Installed Fabtech-Performance high flow Axle back Mufflers W/dyno video & graphs

Purchased the mufflers from Fabtech looking for a little more V8 sound from the E without going the whole x pipe resonator delete. I chose to have them installed at the local dyno shop. Although you could do it yourself I just wanted to have it done on a lift by professionals. FTP sends pics to detail the measurements where the cuts need to be made. The piping slips over your stock exhaust and clamps on. Simple straight forward design.

Definitely wakes the car up. My E55 is completely stock and I gained 25wtq and almost 40whp on the first (not heat soaked) pull. After that HP gain was around 25.
Sound is there. All the time. Not obnoxious for cruising or at any point actually but sounds good and mean opened up. Even get a burble slowing down for a stop light.

That seems pretty loud for a stock setup, my car would likely sound like a top fuel with those mufflers...lol.

Still don't like how round those tips are compared to the stock ovals. They seem to leave a lot of empty space in the bumper cut-outs.

holy crap, that's some good power from a muffler swap :o

I can't imagine what the sound would be like with the resonator removed

The only gripe I'd have is the spot welded FTP logo on the muffler - those would eventually get rusty... much rather see a laser etched logo or even heat resistant silkskreen

Prefer stock tips, what mufflers is in the kit? Mangaflow? Also, would be great if you could provide a drive by WOT video. Thanks for posting up.

Dyno charts and all, I still call bulllsh*t on the HP claims, there is no way in hell there is a 30whp bottleneck in the stock mufflers

Did you dyno the before dyno the same day and just swap out mufflers and redyno the same day?

No, you didn't pick up 25 and 40 with those mufflers. Long Tube Headers yes but not the mufflers.

Dyno was next day.

Like I said +40 was the first pull. +25 was the rest of the pulls.

I agree on the welded on FTP logos.

I think they are magnaflow, but not 100% sure.

Yeah afraid to x pipe/delete now for sure...lol.

I see FTP got the #'s switched on their ad...

LOL, the shop that installed the mufflers has nothing the gain by the +hp. They are the same guys that tuned my STi to 536whp last year and have no affiliation with FTP. Just a cool group of local guys I trust. That was the best of the pulls with the muffler that's all.

When Magnaflow used my car to prototype a E55 exhaust system they built a cat back system and got SEVEN Wheel Horsepower and SIX foot/pounds of torque. Using those same mufflers. so yeah there is no way you got what you claim.

Why would it rusty at the spot welds and not the rest of the welds? You know that mig welding isn't the only type of welding right?

And I'm also skeptical on the gains

you would be lucky to see 10hp gain on my 224dynojet. dynos do not mean everything but mine has never spit out a goofy number all are numbers are backed up by the track times and are =.

I call BS!! theres no way it gave those gains. Craptech continues to make a mockery of himself. If just mufflers give those gains, what is the need for headers then??

The dyno used to by the OP is Dynapack. From My experience those dynos tend to read very very inaccurate. Lets see some Mustang or Dyno Dynamics dyno numbers!

How do you know these mufflers dont give you these gains? Do you have any dyno info leading us to believe otherwise? Just wondering since you seem to know all..

To gain even more power.. Thats like saying i got 20 whp from a certain pulley, but why go to a larger pulley? Why, because you will likely make more power..

Your logic is pathetic
