While you may have had a "Good Experience" you're lack of any actual experience or common sense invalidates any of your "Findings"
Seriously I'm surprised that your "Technical" blog doesn't have a photo series on how to actually fuel your car from a gas pump because honestly even that might be above your technical expertise level

Looks like these are $760 during FT's "sale". There aren't too many viable cat-back options out there. For < $800, I suppose if you're just looking for sound + weight savings, it's a lot easier to swallow than the $2k GT Haus set up.
pearlpower seems to be the only thoughtful voice in the whole thread.

These were originally priced at $1100 on his website when they first came out. How great can they be if they can be discounted a whopping 30%?
Regardless if you feel my opinion is biased
The numbers put down don't make sense
All this thread serves is just bad PR for Fabtech

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
I for one am glad this kit is out, the more the better. Beyond the HP claims which most of us agree are 'generous', if someone is looking for a rear muffler setup your options are sort of limited and it is nice for enthusiasts to have other options
Now, I cannot comment on fit/finish, welds, etc. However if those are in line, then $760 would be a decent price. If........![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I like the stock setup and will hold onto it until something else comes along. Not much tops the OEM tips either.

Magnaflow Stainless steel 3" offset offset oval cans $115 RETAIL $75 wholesale each
Tips $75 Retail $40 wholesale each
3" stainless exhaust piping $18/foot retail $12 foot wholesale 8 feet required $96 total
so he has $326 in this project.....
His claims about lack of drone are as factual as his horsepower claims. I had those cans on my car when magnaflow prototyped out a system on my car.... it was unbearable

Over and Over you prove a lack of practical experience and understanding of how things work, BUT you want us to take your word for it. This village had an idiot like that before his name was Jangy and you are starting to fill in the void he left when he ripped people off and vanished

The sound is because of different firing order and complete different motor all together. That's how you know when a car is coming by that has a ford or Chevy engine by the sound or atleast I can lol. I can tell you if it's a LSx motor, ford pushrod or modular motor without ever seeing the car. These Mercedes have a sound all there own.

Great point.
Didn't GM use the same firing order on the LS as the 302 Mustang? They sound completely different though. I wish an E55 could sound as good as proper Mustang LOL

The 302w actually had several different firing orders depending on different years but all sound almost the same as well as the 351w but i don't think they ever had the same as the LSx series engine. Ford always start 1-3-7 or 1-5-4 and the LSx series engines all have the same 1-8-7. The E55 engine is a 1-5-4 also but they have there own sound.

No But reading a forum doesn't give you real world experience which you seem to think it does.

I've never claimed to be an expert, what experience are you referring to here?

I had a dyno on my E500 last december and had magnaflow mufflers on there. I had gained 10HP at most but when I get it re-dynoed at another place, it was 3HP lol.
All about the dyno guys

Here's the thing that most forget if our stock mufflers were a restriction they would be golden in color due to the heat from the restrictions. They are not, they flow pretty damn well for stock parts

I've built 200-300 modified LS engines over the last 13 years and used to teach powertrain for GM and( and Ford for a short time) I'm very aware of their firing order
My point was that The cylinders being labeled differently between manufacturers can be misleading when comparing firing orders.
An LS1thru LS9s firing order is 18726543 and a 5.0,4.6 and cammer 5.0s are 13726548. However GM labels their cylinders starting with DS front 1357 and PS front 2468 while Ford is PS front 1234 and PS front 5678. So if you relabel the cylinders and follow the sequence, youll see that the LS does indeed share firing orders with late model Ford V8s.
I've performed many LS swaps into various non-LS chassis (mostly classics)over the years including three Mustangs. The LS swapped Mustangs sound very similar to a 5.0 Ford powered Mustang when the Ford headers and remainder of the exhaust are used. Louder (more displacement) but very similar.
