Engine oil level. Stop, engine off!
Has anyone ever figured out what this message means? The screen turned red tonight and said exactly what the title says.. yet the car is fine, oil level is fine I just added a quart about 5 days ago because it said to.

Means it thinks the oil is critically low. Stop the motor immediately. Confirm 100% the oil level is correct before running it again. If your positive it has oil likely a bad oil level sensor but look at the wiring for anything funny.

Is there a way I can check the oil level more precisely using a tranny dipstick I bought on ebay? Has to be some kind of correct measurement to look for..

I have the tranny dipsitck. It is a round flex spring type with plastic tip and level markings. IT wont fit in the oil tube tube. I recommend to confirm oil level drain or use topsider and remove oil and measure. Then fill back up with oil and confirm light. A mistake on oil level might cost you and engine.

Well I havent gotten the message again since last night and it says my oil level is OK. Ill check for sure once the dipstick arrives. I guess ill wait until it gives me the message 1 more time before I go ahead and order a new sensor, just in case it was some kind of fluke.
