If all the belts were removed and it still made that noise it could also be the transmission pump which sits behind the torque converter. The noise will travel all throughout the engine bay. Good luck, let us know what you find!

My goodness guys, he stated he took his belts off. lol.
Transmission pump can make this noise as can the oil pump. My car makes this same noise but in a very very low pitch, it's done so for years. Yours is bad so pin pointing it should be easier. Check your tranny fluid level.

95% oil pump noise. 100% Normal
A lot of people think its a bad bearing or something else.
I have changed my oilpump and the noise is still there. Its beacuse the oilpump in the 55 amg enginge is 6 Gears pump. It menas its 3 pumps in one pice. Thats why it noisy. I have also tried diffrent oils. And the results is like that
Castrol 0w-30 Engine sounds good when cold and almost warm oil. The pump is less noisy. But when warm you have a little harder noise or tiking from the lifters and the noise from the oil pump is back now. Also more noisy.
Castrol Edge 0w-40 Same as the 0w-30 oil but little more noise from the pump but only a litte. When warm oil much less noise from the engine oilpump comparing to the 0w-30.
Mobil 1 0w-40 More noise in the begining and almost no tiking from the lifters.
But when the engine is warm the oilpump is almost quiet or do a little noise.
When you push you car at most as we do

Also drive with Mobil 1 0w-40 as recomended. The best oil Ever for the 55 amg.
Also i can explain the tranny oil pump. There are 3 diffrent oilpumps during the production of the 55 tranny. In the begining the oilpump have the both gears in Aluminum ( it not only alu but let us say that for now) Between 03-04. This pumps make noise within usage at 100 000 Km. That sulotion or type is bad.
in the late 04 they changed again with alu gear and somthing harder for the housing. Better.
In 2005 and 2006 the housing is much harder and as the transmission company here in Sweden says. There is only 2 Companys who do transmission to Mercedes dealers in Stockholm. They say that the 05 and 06 is almost bullet proof sulotion and they havent seen a bad pump ever., or let us say noisy.
I did search a lot and talked to Mercedes and the tranny comapny and all of them says the oilpump is noisy and you think there is a problem but not.
So i think you have a noisy oil pump as all of the 55 owners.
But leave the car at a workshop and let them check if the noise is from the front or the tranny pump.
Iam almost 95 % sure about its the oil pump. Nothing to be worry about.
You have only to live with that.
I gona take some pictures at my old oil pump to show every owner the constrution of the 55 oil pump. And why its noisy.
I have changed the oilpump without any results its the same noise. SO do not change it

Just my 2 cents...
I had a similar sound and took my car to the dealer.
He quoted me a new alternator, because THEY can't just replace the internal bearings, and some pulleys.

Wow the OP has the same diesel-like "ticking" sound that my CL55 produces. So thats now indeed the oilpump or about which sound in the video you are talking about?
My car sounds literally the same.
