The pic need to be less than 204,800 bytes. Photoshop Elements 2.0 is a great photo editing package, for under $100, and very easy to use.

Please email me the pic. I just returned my expression grille and spoiler to performance products. The grille did not inset inside the lip of the hood but the outer rim fit over the front of the hood. This is not what the one in their picture looked like. What is yours like? The spoiler had a crack in it. I'm going to have my dealer install the Lorinser grille and spoiler unless yours is significantly different. Thanks.

Surprisingly that looks pretty good. I'm usually skeptical about grill swaps after seeing a CLK with a big star on it.

Dr. Chill, sorry to hear about the problem you had. The shop owner who tried to install the grille on my car initially called me and told me that the grille won't fit. I guess on my way to the shop to pick up the grille (to return to perf prod) the shop owner made some adjustments and was able to install the grille perfectly.

I can ask him what kind of adjustments he did if you're interested.
Let me know.

I agree it looks better painted and installed, but I think I'm going to go with the Lorinser grille and paint the grille the body color. I prefer the look of the grille fitting inside the hood lip rather than fitting over the front of the hood.

A close inspection of the Expression grille reveals the inner part is actually a CLK or CL grille cut down to fit inside the neo-frame. The plastic chrome inserts are loose on the ends because the original end that was cut down contained the anchoring point. This may become problematic after prolonged heat exposure which may cause the plastic chrome trim to separate.

Here's the Lorinser product

fiftyfive4me,

I'd also be interrested in getting clear front side markers to replace the orange ones. Did this on my last 2 Porsches, and it looks so much better. Where did you get them?

The clear lights were customized by a body shop, and I am not really satisified with the quality. I was informed that the "after market clear lights" will be available in two weeks. Until then, I will be using these flimsy lights.

Will let you guys know as soon as the after market clear lights are available.

Thanks.

Dr. Chill: As always, you have provided good information/option to this board. I must admit, those Lorinser grille looks better/sturdier compared to the expression. Should there be a reason for me to replace my grille, I will order the Lorinser.

Are you ordering from evosport? How much is it?

Thanks again!

No, the dealeer will get them for me at cost. I'll post pics as soon as it's installed. I'm picking up my car in a few hours. I have to admit, after waiting so long for the car, it's somewhat anticlimactic.

I'll post that info when the dealer contacts me. It was too late on Friday to get a price.

I can't decide which one I like more, 55's or mine?

55's grill below, mine in the previous post.

Personally, I like your (Rave E55) grill better.
1. Its more classical, it suits the silver boy color better
2. It preserve the chrome surround in the original grill
3. 55 had his chrome painted, so its a bit more aggressive and sporty looking
4. The big star in yours has the 2 vertical struts at 12 and 6 o'clock, I'd probably paint that if I have the same setup
5. I do not like the silver mesh backing the big star in 55's grill

So can you guys post your grill supplier's website, the price and the whole installation experience again as a summary so we out there can decide and order??

Thanks

That's my 25 cents worth

I purchased mine from Performance products: Click here
Be warned, I felt the need to modify it. I was not happy with the housing, used to hold the center star in place, it was a cheap looking, dark gray plastic, on oe grills the housing is a glossy black finish, so I had mine painted glossy black, after this mod, it looks much better, very close to oe look. Installation is very easy, just a few screws.
