E63 P030 spotter's guide

I am looking for a '09ish P030 E63 and I have seen one that has the two piece wheels(hopefully not knockoffs) and a flat bottom steering wheel but where the Alcantra would be on the steering wheel, it looks like perforated leather. Is there a definitive way to tell?

There are many threads on the p030. Seems like they are popping up more and more lately. Best bet is to run the VIN. I can check for you.

I think where the burl is there is also carbon fiber unless the one I saw had aftermarket stuff in the interior.

The P030 steering wheel does NOT have a flat bottom, just the alcantara on the side like this:

The smaller flat bottom steering wheel, comes from the CLK black series:

Maybe it is a 2009 thing?

I beg to differ with the no flat bottom stearing wheel. This is the car I would have bought if I had waited two more weeks.

E63 P030
The 07-08 should definitely have the suede wheel, I have seen a couple of different '09's posted with the flat bottom wheel so that may be standard for that MY...

Heres an interior picture of my '08 P030 for reference:
(the suede looks grayish in the picture, its much darker in person, the flash made it look like that

I think you are right:
'07-'08 Wheel with alcantara
'09 Smaller flat bottom wheel, no alacantara.
