Question Strange TPMS Malfunction Code
Just got a strange malfunctiopn code, "Tire Pressure RR function tire defect" or something like that all in red. I've gotten many TPMS codes in the past, but never this one and never in red. Tire pressure on all 4 tires looked good and has not changed at all. When I got home I checked out the tires and they all looked fine. Tires are about 6 months old with about 1,500 miles. Anyone ever experience this problem?

I hate to admit my ignorance, but is there a battery in each tpms unit for transmittal and that is the battery that is a problem?

The sensor's battery are not replaceable. You have to buy new sensor if the battery in it is dead.

Tire needs to be dismounted PROPERLY to replace the sensor.. I have seen idiots improperly dismount tires and damage sensors and wheels, because they didn't think TPMS was present. Even though it was a 2009 model year car..
