only real issue for me right now is the headers I think. I can pull the rest off it looks like. Should just do it right once I suppose. Of course if I went with the Kleemans I could then spend that extra $ on looped rail.... see there I go again .

Getting closer okay so total parts bill is looking like $5700. Not too bad. I am expecting high $ for header install and possibly the Killer Chiller and TB. If I can get reasonable installs on these I should be just under 7K. Was thinking $600 range for headers, 300-400 chiller install, same for TB. Puts my car at $24K total. I think I can live with that =)

Already purchased:

$1700 EC LT headers *PAID*
$900 EC 82 MM TB *PAID*
$115 new IC pump *PAID*
$75 K&N drop ins *PAID*
$75 One step colder NGK plugs *PAID*
$375 550 Bosch EV 14 injectors *Paid*
$825 185 MM pulley kit. * PAID *
$340 Split IC system top mount 2.5 gal *PAID*
$200 MT Drag radials for strip *Buying* Just sold my new set for my GTO for $300 so its a wash

Still need to purchase:

$1000 OE tune .
$500-$1000 Killer Chiller

$$ ?? Installation of some of these parts

In the final analysis, what do you guys consider a "10-second grocery getter"???

I understand what a 10-second track car is.... it's an E55 with a trunk tank full of ice, drag radials, a Q16 tune and gutted interior.

What doesn't seem clear is where you guys draw the line at "10-second street car".... and what does that really even mean? Some hardcore guys will drive on the street with drag radials on the car, but do you also seriously drive around with a tank full of Q16 also? When you drive around town, does your car still look like a theft-recovery with a missing interior?

I guess my point is that it's one thing to build a 10-second track car, but after you change 2 or 3 or 4 things to put it back into service for daily driving, it's awfully hard to say it's still the same car...

Exactly!! My whole purpose was I have a true 10 second street car and that's what I did. Full interior and exhaust and I ran a 10.67 with warm water in the tank just to see what it would do. I didn't drive much on the street and kept
The Q16 tune on it but it would no doubt still run 10's on 93 octane. I put a lot of thought into my build and talked to my builder to come up with my best all around package and believe I did that.

Has anyone ever run a 10.99 or better with a pump gas tune and full interior? THAT would be impressive!

I'd like to see a car run a low 11-second, full street-trim and fuel tune on regular street tires. (I know it's asking too much for 10s, without drag radials).... to me that would be the ultimate street sleeper. And if someone rolled up next to you on a moment's notice, the car would be truly ready to run..... no tire swaps, no reflashing, etc. Cool.

I dont honestly think that there is a tire that can hold our torque the only thing I do at the track is slap on the drag radials and for the past 3yrs I have always run a Chevron 91/ERC 100 mix full time.

I think most of us would go easy 10's on pump. On street tires would be a little harder unless we're using something like pilot sport cup tires and those are a stretch to call street tires.

Lol. Like my friend always tells me. " it don't have to look pretty getting down the track as long as it stays off the walls"

come to think about it even the GTR needs drag radials in order to hit 10's in stock trim. There may have been a couple of GTR's that have done it but not too many. The Aventador, MP4-12C, 997 Turbo S and of course the Agera, Bugatti.

255/50/16 i think they are on CLK rims. I could spin them from a roll but they would spin for a little bit then hook up great (i'd usually stay in the gas until they would hook up).

I've been running the 265/40/18 on my stock wheels. They do pretty much the same thing, they'll spin a bit and then hook at a roll. Waste of time using them from a dead stop.

Without drag radials my car will do nothing but spin. But in full street trim and on 93oct, my car ran 11.10 @ 126 w/ drag radials. And on actual street tires (invo's) my car ran 11.6 @ 124 on a 1.8x 60ft.
I actually wanted to see how low I could go on street tires. Maybe I'll see.

11.6@126 MPH and a 1.8 60 aint just spinning. Good job !

I just got some 9.5 factory rims with 285s out back . I will surely test them both stock and modded. Not sure how the Hankooks are but they look grippy.
