Do a search.
First thing you should do, actually, NEED to do is address cooling. Too many things can happen, so play it safe. At Least split the cooling, and maybe get a looped rail, depending on what power your looking for.
But get a hold of Jerry at Eurocharged, he'll take care of you.

I'm not sure if the sale is still available, but Eurocharged had a deal for a smaller blower pulley and tune for $900. That is a great deal, and should net you around 40 rwhp and similar tq. Install is a breeze on that pulley too.

If I were to do it all over again on a stock car it would be 168mm and K2 setup all day, just enough power and no worries about anything.

Have to agree. In hindsight I should have just done this with some fails safes and a trigger on the IAT sensor to fake it to retard timing and would have called it good.

I think I just convinced myself .

03'55AMG suggested upgrading the cooling system first.
What does that mean? Additional coolers, bigger radiator, pumps, what??
Can someone please explain the cooling system layout to me or is there a website to look it up?
What does split system mean?
I am realy in the dark here - and I don't mean just in Africa :-)

that's a great prep

nibo - honestly it all depends on how much you plan on modding your car...

I upgraded my HE and had my pump replaced with the newer Bosch 010 model - and I haven't had any heat-soak issues - but then again, I'm somewhat a mild mod with just the S/C pulley and tune

if you plan on a bigger crank pulley, it's strongly recommended to go with a killer chiller or split the cooling because the larger pulley adds a lot of heat

but even if you're mildly modded - you can do the best cooling mods and it won't hurt a bit

How much money do you have to spend? You say cheapest so I am thinking your budget may be small for mods and you can only get a tune but who knows. I personally would not fool with a crank pulley now that the smaller supercharger pulley is available. You can get a great deal on supercharger pulley and tune, and the pulley is very easy to change if you have a battery powered or air impact gun.

It will take you 30 minutes tops if you don't hit any snags (stuck bolt) and you look over any DIY threads to get tips (one tip I will give you right now is you do not need to unbolt your motor mounts and raise engine to do this like some say, simply lift the radiator support up, lift up on the fan and put an extension and socket through it right on to the bolt of pulley).

If you can swing it, then get a bigger heat exchanger as well, and if you have more in the $1400 range to spend then I would skip the pulley and heat exchanger for now and get headers and a tune instead to have much more consistent power due to not heating up the air more running higher boost pressures from the pulley swap. You will also get better traction and have much less traction control intervention slowing you down from the increased torque real low in the rpms from the pulley. Then get a heat exchanger when you can.

Lol, was thinking the same thing but have a duel 100 shot. 100 for daily driving events and extra 100 for when you need some real business to take care off.
