Oh by the way a ZR1 has a drag coefficient of .36 to our .27

Here is what we typically see...from 98aggie who is at the event every time

------------------------

For the guys that have never done an event like this here are some hp guidelines for HP requirements to go certain speeds. (Only thing is doesn't match up to cars that have a small frontal area (Supra, Ford GT, RX7 FD) but for corvettes, and similar it is pretty close.

300 rwhp - 142mph
400 rwhp - 163mph
500 rwhp - 174mph
600 rwhp - 180 mph
700 rwhp - 188 mph
800 rwhp - 190 mph
900 rwhp - 200 mph
1000 -1100 rwhp - 210 mph
(These are just ranges to give you an idea of what it takes)

To give you an idea the guys running 240-250mph are in the 1500-1800 rwhp.

1200 crank would get it. I doubt any of us can get 1200 rwhp? I'm looking forward to seeing you and your car on the next Texas Mile. You can talk your trash and back it at the race. How ever you feel fit....

I have @550 rwhp

Sorry I don't talk in mythical crank horse power numbers. Here's a very god point maybe you can catch on with. Your car makes 550rwhp. So with another 150-200rwhp you don't think you would be any closer to 200? Don't worry my car will be there or another mile event next year so we will see how cheap talk is then. How is it that our cars have a better drag coefficient than even a C6/Z06 and you still think it takes 1100 "crank HP" to hit 200? How did a Z06 break 200 with only 684rwhp?

Closer, yes.

200 mph? No

Some of you guys are somehow taking this personal about the 200 mph mark. Pull your panies from your *** and calm down. I don't have the fastest car. I don't care if you are faster. Congratulations?

You will not make your 55K motor achieve a 200 mph in the mile. Period. Twin turbo V12's? Yes. Ours? No

Yes, I do. Too many variables in the real world. That's why I still say 1100+ crank hp. Have you run a mile race yet? I'm guessing no.

I'm far from a professional race car driver or a professional tuner.....but I have raced a mile race and these were the factors I faced...

Temps during the race?
Car in the best shape possible?
Tuned properly for the race?
Weight of vehicle and of you during the race (me@188lbs)?
Wind direction during the race?
Heat soak?
Pavement groves and dips?
Track shuts down for some unknown reason and your engine heat soaks?
Do you tape or not tape....if so, what?

I freaking don't respond to you tools for a day and it becomes a sausage fest of egos. I'm fun natured, not full of venom. Blokes need to chill. Enough hate in the world, no need for that sh+t here. Agreed?

Would you at least like to put some money on it? I'm willing to lay down some money that someone will do it if they try within the next 18 months or so.

How are you both cool with 18 months, but you want someone to show up this year? By the way I forgot to say congrats on your run. Are you only running a SC pulley for boost?

Having the same engine and chassis as you.....don't you think I want you to succeed? CST-V queens are dominating. They're having their engines rebuilt from scratch to pull 191 mph miles @ packages with the price tag of 18K and above. Bring it

I want to beat the CTS-V guys this year. I don't need the glory, just the glory our cars can do it.

A built motor with a weistec blower, and 200 is definitely attainable.

How about a case of local beer and $100? I'll ship a case of microbrew to whoever hits 200mph in a 55k car first.

It always seems someone needs to throw out a number first, but if we're doing it in the spirit of pushing the platform....

Edit: No timeline for me. Someone with the means just do it.

Kinda like the new Shelby 1000 and 1200 packages. Buy a $55,000 662hp Shelby and for another $154,000 they will turn that into a super snake that makes 1000hp or for $159,000 a 1200hp "race" model.
