CEL Code P0456

I recently got a CEL, code was P0456, minor evap leak.
For future users, it turned out to be a bad purge valve.

Do happen to the the part number you used to replace it? As well, where is it located within the car? Thanks!

I spoke too soon the purge valve did not fix the issue, indy is working on car again today to try and figure out the issue. I had fuel sender and gas tank replace March 2012.

Will post resolution as soon as I know.

P0456 is more commonly due to an evap leak caused by a cracked/leaking fuel sender.

I had the P0456 fault code and after reading many members who replaced the purge valve, which did not resolve the fault, I attributed the evap leak due to the leaking driver's side fuel sender (which I knew I had).

I bit the bullet, replaced the driver's side sender, cleared the code, and it hasn't come back since.

Until next time it comes back...stupid fuel sender.

Well my indy has just about given up on it, he can't find any leak (ran smoke tests with 2 different machines). Just booked it into the dealer for next Tuesday. It better not be the sending unit again.

Are your fuel senders leaking right now?

If not, the other potential cause is a leaky bulkhead (for evap connection) on the top of the fuel tank (between the two senders). I believe this would require replacing the fuel tank.

Indy has confirmed senders are good. Driver side sender & fuel tank (was leaking where you describe at top of tank) were replaced 13 months ago.

Hopefully, it's just a loose connection or dry rotted rubber hose. Give us an update if the dealer diagnoses the issue.

Hulk replaced his senders at about the same timeframe.

OMG... Is the CL C215 also affected by this issue?
Fuel Senders, whats that anyway? I thought fuel is delivered by a pump on the co-drivers side underneath the fueltank...

I got that same code for the first time over the weekend.

I'm still playing the "3/4 tank fillup" game with my leaking tank, so when I saw that CEL I just cleared it with my iPhone and havent seen it since.

Almost 100% certainty that it's fuel leak related.

Jeez guys don't say that, better not be senders and or fuel tank again. I'll update as soon as I know anything further (next week).

$85 for part (I don't know the part number, not on my paperwork). I don't know labor (I had some other work done at the same time) but would suggest no more than one hour?
