Replica exhaust

I got me a set of the replica Meistercraft mufflers and tips and had them installed at my local muffler shop. I didn't like the way they installed them at first with the mufflers so low but it grew on me pretty fast. The good news is that it's just mufflers and tips and if I wanted a true replica set up with the tips immediately after the mufflers I can always take it to a more capable muffler shop to make that happen.

I think having the cans as low as they are kinda make the rear end look fatter and meaner, although the purists will very likely disagree.

Anyhow, I made a video clip with my digital camera. I wish I had a Go Pro. Because I used a digital camera it does clip slightly when I rev the throttle. Here are the pics and the video clip.

I'm sorry, I moved the video and the pics in my albums and I didn't realize it also changed the locations to the links.

My car also has Floored Fab long tube headers, x-pipe, and 200 cell cats. This would explain why it's as loud as it is. This is my first day with it but so far it didn't drone very much at all at 75. It is, however, LOUD when you start to dig into the go pedal.

I love every second of it

You'll get a PM soon, Jack.

I need to hear this bad boy in person. After my latest round of mods the car is surprisingly smoother and it just feels too mild. I'd like the option to swap between stock and sinister for the best of both worlds.

Sterling! Long time no see! I had mine welded up all the way around....now that I think about it I should have had the muffler shop fab it up so that I could interchange the mufflers and tips between stock and these. Dang hindsight....tends to kick yer butt sometimes.

mufflers look nice bt the pipe work after the mufflers dont do the car justice along with the weld quality. But it does sound good.

Why not post where you bought the mufflers from? I dont see why you would need to PM everyone.

Agreed. One day I'll tire of the work done and take it to a more capable muffler shop to do the work right.

On the way home this morning I hit the interstate and cruised at 77 for the duration of my trip. There was an audible difference between stock and this setup, but in truth, there was NO drone. You can hear it, but it's not drone. I have a car that drones. This does not. I stayed out of boost the entire trip on the interstate. Once you start to dig into the go pedal you start to hear the exhaust wake up. I made another video but I used my phone this time and it doesn't seem to clip when I rev the throttle.

Current mods are: smaller s/c pulley with belt wrap kit, upgraded intercooler and pump, EC ECU and TCU tune, Floored Fab long tube headers and X-pipe, 200 cell cats (2), replica exhaust.

It has a nice, clean european v-8 sound that isn't quite as distinctive as others I've heard but there is a huge difference between this exhaust and your everyday truck v-8 sound. It sounds low but at a higher octave it seems like.

Quiet-ish off throttle and screams bloody murder when you step on it

X-pipe. If you don't have one and don't want this to drone....get one. Get a good one.

Mike, sounds great and and as I recall when we did Shardul`s mufflers a while back, it took about 20 lbs off as well.

I can tell everyone that Mdgonzo has one of those E55`s that was made on the right day and makes a lot of extra power! I been lucky to drive it a few times and it is flat out fast but then again has very nice street manners.

Thank you Exotic! This new muffler is surprisingly very civil at cruise. I'm very, very happy with it. I may try getting a more capable muffler shop to install these in the factory location in the future.
