Those of you that upgraded your torque converter to a higher stall, how do you like it? Differences? Are you glad you did it?
The build on my car is in progress right now and I have been thinking I want to throw one in the car. I am really thinking about it since the car will be turbo and not have that instant power of the roots blower. I shouldnt have a lot of lag with the turbos we are going with but I think the upgraded torque convertor with a higher stall will be a HUGE help at the track. And it would be a lot of fun on the street.
So go ahead and let me know what you think!

So far, reviews have been pretty positive as they appear to fully lock up quicker to get all power down but i'm not sure too many here have one yet. PM chawkins2001 as i'm sure he has plenty of information for you.
I'm also considering one since I'll be pulling my trans to replace my rear main seal. One of those "might as well while I'm in there" mods.

i was unable to get to the track for real results but knowing my times before and they do not equal my mph for et based on getting off the line with a stock stall, this 3000 convertor is worth every penny. i love the way my car drives it just goes like hell now.

Ok, I decided... I am ordering one today lol
Love my stall as well. Will be back at the track and Houston mile, once it cools back down this fall.

I have a 2500rpm stall converter that has furnace brazed fins and upgraded roller bearings, no complaints. What you need to look in to if you haven't though is getting an LSD in the rear, not sure if you already had that in the works or not. Having both tires spin and not want to one tire fire on you is more predictable/controllable and of course better for putting that turbo power to the ground.

I'm curious to see where it stalls at for you in comparison to the blown cars

Thanks man, who knows I might have to take you up on that. My advice to you at this point is quit adding stuff because when you change a whole ton of things at once sometimes little bugs and gremlins that are synonymous with aftermarket mods get hard to chase out because so many things were altered at the same time. You seem like you're in good hands though, I mean no disrespect to the shop.

Thanks for the advice Chris! I completely agree. Thats why I am not installing the Stahl, LSD, built tranny, and a few other things until the turbo kit is tuned, tested and working properly. Once those bugs are worked out I will actually put the parts that are sitting in boxes in the car.Originally Posted by Sir-Boost-a-Lot

That's probably a smart move. I hope to see this thing alive and punishing the roads soon
