I recently had my alternator replaced on my CLS55 and now my navigation map shows incorrect data. It shows my car about 15 miles off of where I actually am. Everything worked fine before for me as well.

I do have a "burnt" copy of an updated navigation disc but I find it odd that it stopped working exactly when my alternator and batteries died.

i wonder if there is a reset precedure for the Audio Gateway?? seems like everything on these cars has a way to reset, ecu, door modules, sunroof module ect. STAR sure would help if you have the capability. Good Luck.

Don't know if it would force a RESET on the bus, but the fiberoptic cables on the back of the NAV are pretty easy to get to... might be worth disconnecting the fiber there, power everything on and then re-attach to the ring and see if it would force the system to go out and "re-discover" all the devices on that network....

When my NAV starting acting up (after I got it back from a complete detailing) I figured they must have removed the disc from the player. Turns out it was just one of those coincedences. Unit was completely dead with the disc still inside....swapped in a new unit and swapped the disc over and everything was back to normal.

No clue. I have had the opposite issue, though: I get a "failed to connect" message when trying to view the map, but it's always fixed by leaving the battery disconnected overnight. Only happened a couple times.

I like GregMB's idea of unhooking the fiber optics.

I have a extra NAV unit ill sell if you find it is the problem. Or if its something else let me know I may have the part.

undo the power harness on the Nav drive in the trunk and plug it back in, it should start working.
