Post Q for those who have actually run the mile

I have a question for those who have ACTULLY put their car through the mile (Mojave Mile, Texas Mile or otherwise). When you ran the mile in your merc:

1. Did you run with your CF front lip?

2. Did you cover/tape over your grill?

Thanks ahead for any response.

people usually use painters tape.
During the mile every bit of aero modes help.
I would run the splitter
you dont need to be aggressive in the luanch you can roll off the line and then stab it

I don't have a CF lip and never taped on the 10 runs I have done, I have seen one car lose its CF front lip at 170mph+ and it made a real mess of one of the side skirts.

A splitter will increase downforce on the front and actually slow you wayyy down. If you're worried about stability at 160+ then keep the splitter and hope for the best... but I would remove.

I've done it twice, left everything stock up front.

1)Tape every crack and seam on the car painters tape.
2)Keep tires aired to normal operating range, lower car as much as possible.
3)Bring lot of ice for trunk tank.
4) Use race fuel or at least mix it in for extra saftey
5) Remove front lip if you can , if not tape up all the cracks and seams on it to keep air out and or from ripping it off.

Oh yeah, this is a big one. Make damn sure you tighten up all your belly pan bolts and if any are stripped, replace them!!!!

Last ,, enjoy the ride my friend!

This vid shows how the car was taped when my wife and I ran the car.
