Front brake rotors - good source?

I know there are the Zimmerman rotors for ~$100/ea and the extreme lightweight ones for $1,100

Any lightweight ones in the middle of that range? :-)

Zimmermann Rotors $103/ea

I just got a full set from www.r1concepts.com. Good quality, reasonable price and super fast shipping. I got the "premium" version.

How much did you pay and are they light weight?

There was a thread last night mentioning rotors for like $89 for fronts and $50 for rears...where the hell is it? lol

Was I sleep typing, dreaming? Anyone have a clue where I was reading that and I even replied to the thread. HELP!

I paid about $350 for the front and about $250 for the rear set. Weight is comparable to stock. Lighter than stock is going to be a two piece design...and "lite" and "cheap" don't belong in the same sentence. I did a bunch of homework when researching for rotors. I picked R1concepts for good reasons.

Typically, lite + cheap = warpage

If they are cast and they are lighter than stock...I would be curious as to how/why they are lighter.

ok -so they were lighter 10lbs per corner is a pretty dramatic difference!

Zimmermann is one of the OEM vendors too

I have a question. should make a poll for this but what is the preferred choice as far as drill, slotted, or drilled and slotted?

I ask because my factory rotors have small cracks around each of the holes drilled. So im leaning toward slotted only rotors... opinions on this?

The premium ones look tempting but is there any weight savings ?

If Zimmerman saves 10lbs per corner then that is a big go but performance

wise are they comparable ?

And brake pad wise only reason I stray away from Akebono is that people have

said that performance wise OEM is better than them.

This doesn't sound right..

As the Zimmermans are a solid 1pc iron rotor... while the Racing Brake, EVOsport and Girodisc are all 2pc rotors with alum hats and have the same rough weight of 22-24#

If this is in fact true, i would be very wary of these zimmerman rotors.

Does anyone have a verified weight of stock rotors? I have the R1 premiums but haven't weighed them. I will weigh them when I get home from vacation next weekend. Once again, anyone verified the weight of the stock rotors?
