Back up camera to the nav screen DIY
Does anyone want a DIY video on how to install a backup camera using *******?
I'm going to *******.com to install a backup camera to my e63. They will use my car for a DIY video.

Lets pretend that I am a 5 year old. I install and hook up my rear view camera to this thing (http://*****************/MERCEDES-BENZ_E-CLASS_03-08.aspx$) and then hook that thing up to the back of my OEM merc nav/radio. That sounds so easy. Did I get that right? I hope so, b/c that would be great!

$600? If you don't have HK sound system (which makes things dramatically more complex and expensive), then just do NGT2.5 retrofit for roughly same price and then you have both.
Or just dump the factory head unit and get any after market (which work with any rear view camera).

I have developer mode and I can only read the settings but can't make any changes, I think my star is 09/2011. It's driving me nuts that I can't enable it.
Do you get into command through w164 or r171?

Sidebar: How much did it cost you to do the retrofit with the new command & I assume the 2 new amps / wiring harness? I was headed in that direction until I found it would be easier/cheaper/better tech to go aftermarket. I haven't pulled the trigger yet though...

I got a great deal on the command last nov for $500 and then started collecting the rest of the parts one by one, found the hk locally for $200, the sub amp and hd radio module from potomac german auto for $139 each shipped and harness was $300. So if you take your time you can find deals for sure.
