WOW.... you don't need to remove it for engine mounts change. Maybe the wrap made it too thick ? I never have a problem with the header for almost 2 years.

I know several members have had clearance issues from driver side on long tubes. can you see marks from any rubbing of the steering shaft or other parts near that area contacting the header?

Check the clearance underneath of the car on the driver side on the down pipe right at the curve. My car was a bit close to the floor so it hit the floor under load. At first, I thought the jerk was the trans but turned out it touched the floor. Lowed it to about 1 inch and it is ok now. It seems the engine lifted up on the driver side under load.

Ive seen header wrapping do more harm then good. Especially with mild steel headers. Too much heat cracks welds.
