Can you take the cluster from a CLS and put it on an E? They're the same cluster but the CLS one looks like it's more "3D". I saw a thread I while back which I looked for about this but couldn't find it. At the time I think someone said it wasn't possible but can someone confirm it. I love the E interior for me it's perfect but the CLS cluster is just

Thanks alot guys, it's certainly easier than I thought. I thought it doesn't even fit but I'm really happy now because the CLS cluster is just gorgeous.

just make sure the milage is set to zero on the cls cluster (or its a new cluster) so that it can program your milage onto it and not just get ----------

That doesn't look like a CLS cluster. A CLS cluster should be really deep set and 3D.

The CLS and E cluster are exactly the same. I think you are referring to the housing of the cluster which is different and will not fit the E.

My cluster looked like the one above with the awful stock silver backround. I just picked up a black piece that comes on any 07 and up W211. Now my cluster looks legit and stock. GL

Yes, that's what I'm talking about, the whole cluster not just the face. I mean the housing too. Are you 100% sure it won't fit because it's a bummer, I was really excited that it might fit.

Do you wanna put the full CLS cluster assembly? If so go for it, that was my initial plan and was happy to get positive feedback but then it was a bummer to find out it's not the full cluster only the faceplate. It shouldn't be too difficult though right because from what I can see the CLS's cluster and surround is heavy based on the W211 if not identical so I'm not actually seeing the issue. I could however see the rings protruding too much but anyways keep us posted on how you go.
