So, you have something other than a 55 and CTS-V?

EVO X/Cobalt SS Turbo/Ford Focus ST- yeah none of these cars come in auto.
The S60 R might be your best choice. Another choice should be the C250 AWD.

As a side note, my first sport sedan was a '95 850 T-5R.

The Raptor was a joke. I average 12.4mpg. I personally can't daily an appliance. While its the right smart financial decision whenever Ive tried I end up driving my toy all the time. I have to drive a truck for work, which is about the only not performance vehicle I enjoy driving, and luckily work pays for gas. Hello Raptor.
If you're trying to save money the best option is someone you can buy with cash. Even if its only 5-10-15k. Then don't get full insurance on it. You may look into a G35/37x. They're great cars to drive and also quite reliable.

Boost, what do you daily? And how does someone with your talent, experience, and ability for modding mod everything? Your discipline is far greater than mine. Almost all my cars at least get a intake, cat-back, tune just for driveability. The G37s being the exception. The tunes net under 10hp, haven't found an aftermarket exhaust I like as much as the stock, and the intake nets less than 10hp. Not really worth it. Even headers don't yield much. Nissan really did a good job maxing out power.

The general public treats you a little differently when driving one of those cars or the other, am I right?

An Audi will definitly fit your requirements. An A4, A6, or S4, S6, auto, all wheel drive. If you get one a few years old and you'll find them at a decent price. Just make sure maintenance was done on it (timing belt if they have 80K or more on the clock). I find them to be pretty reliable as a dd. And a few minor mods and you'll actually get decent gas milage.
I've had them with and without warrenty - Just keep up on maintenance, and you'll spend less on it than the MB. (MB tax)

my daily beater is a GTI Mk4 1.8T modded out suspension, upgraded turbo parts, and exhaust upgrades previous owner did. Fun to drive and dont care if it gets dinged, bumped, scratched and is parked in the guest /street. Also have a set of snow tires/rims owner gave in the sale. I did consider a subby wrx or sti, but knew i would be dumping more $$ into it so passed.

Not turboed or supercharged and definitely doesn't meet the mileage requirement. I see 12.5 in city and 15 on the highway.
Also, the seats sit a little high and I can imagine that someone 2" taller than me might have head clearance issues.

About it tell me, I get smiles when I drive CLS63 but M - F when I drive my 98 civic to work it's like the general public is mad at you for an unknown reason. Hmmm beats me !!!

Fair enough. What about the Volvo S80 T6 AWD ? I owned the non turbo version of this car and it was a great daily driver with an interior larger than the E55 with a huge trunk. A 2007-8 model could probably be had for 17k or less.

I picked up a Golf R for a daily and I love it.
Not yet , I barely drive it , still waiting on some parts to come in and most likely going WEISTEC, saving ..........52%
Ok, I gotcha.
