Drag wheel / Drag Radial setups for the E55?
Last time I ran my car was on stock wheels and I think it was 275 35 18s BFG G force drag radials. Awesome setup btw.
Wondering what the drag racers are running these days. What choices do we have? I dont want a larger diameter tire then stock. I saw a killer setup with some CCW 16" rears with some hoosier tires.
Im thinking of my same wheels but in 18" and run the BFG again for that killer stealth look. But, I would like to go with a smaller 16" or 17" rim setup.
What are you guys running? Hope everyone has an awesome weekend

A search would reveal a lot of information. Im feeling kind though, so I guess Ill fill you in.. All the serious drag guys are running 16" wheels off the w208 clk. For tires either MT streets or Hoosiers will work (255/50/16).. You will also need some spacers with the clk wheels. Anything between a 15-20 mm spacer would work.

Most cost effective setup is the clk rims (13lbs) mounted with either hoosier 26" slicks or hoosier drags 255/50/16.
You also need h&r wheel adapters, 20mm.
I have clk rims to sell if interested homey.

Hey PAS6201, I saw them for sale and I was like then it was like when I scrolled down to see they were sold.
Front skinnies would look great not to mention the decrease in ET & increase in MPH!!

Slicks woud be awesome for the fast guys, You really need a high stall to take advantage of the wrinkle wall action, not to mention the increase in boost!
Ive been eyeing the hoosier drag setup. Ideally you want to run the narrowest tire you can and still hook. Always used that rule of thumb in all my cars at the track and has never failed.

I've got Mickey Thompsons on there now. They were on the wheels when I got them and I don't know how much use they had prior to. 60 foot times are OK for the track at Qualcomm stadium.
Might try the Hoosier slicks next.

My buddies ran the old Nitto NT555 drag radials before and were not that impressed. The BFG G force always seemed to hook substantially better.
But, now I will have to give the NT05R a closer look. Im digging the look of your 17" concavity out back to match your fronts. That's exactly what I wanted to do with my car.... Thank You for "contributing" to the forum and helping make this a cool place to come hang out and learn about the cars we all love.
