Got a short run vs F10 M5 today

So I'm on the way home from total wine, stocking up. And I run across this very nice blue m5 with blue calipers with temp tags going down beach blvd. surprisingly there was only a car in my lane but a bit ahead. I teased him to play, dropped it into second at 50 and pulled a half car to let him know I was there. I wasn't sure if he was game, so I just hovered next to him. Well he was , and he hit it and got the jump. I hit it still in second and quickly caught back up side by side. Then unfortunately had to brake for the slower SUV in my lane. I was def pulling back past him tho. So I go around the SUV and get back over and he hits it again and so do I but he was already in front and no more room so we both shut it down. He turned into a car wash and I followed to see if he wanted the chat but nope. I had my iPhone ready to record but it happened so fast I never hit record .
I was surprised with the exhaust tone, I could hear it with windows up. Considering reading they have the engine tone put out the stereo I figured it was quite and sounded like crap. But it wasn't bad.

I was next to a modded M3 tonight, unfortunately I was with the family in the wagon .....Never can seem to run across anything of interest while I'm driving the '55....Haven't come across an M5 yet.

Would a eurocharged stage 1 e55 beat a stock 2013 F10 M5?

Never put on video that which you would not want to be seen on the front page of the New York Times or being entered into evidence in a court of law.

Never.

You'd also need headers and likely a TB to hang with one.

I think they trap in low 120s?

Nice run, OP.

Since I use my F10 M5 as a daily driver, not a day goes by without someone trying to race me ... Everything is possible in a street race ... but if the M5 driver is prepared, it will walk an E55. The M5's engine has not only torque right above idle, but pulls big time up top to 7200 rpm. DCT has no torque interruption between shifts, is lightning quick and is better geared compared to the E55's automatic transmission. Even though the M5 is no light weight, it's just a more efficient package.

From everything I can see, the manuals trap 115 and the DCT 119.

A stock E should be able to hang/beat with the manual version and a slightly modded one with the DCT...

The whole pumping engine noise through the stereo is overblown. The problem is that BMW used a ton of sound deadening material to keep noises out of the cockpit and then figured they would pump just the engine noise (synthetically) through the stereo so they could still meet noise regulations throughout the world. Kind of a stupid idea as I think their target audience would prefer to hear the real engine noise which sounds very good (admittedly not as a good as the current AMGs). But I put some Supersprint Race mufflers on and am very happy with the sound now.

My F10 M5 trapped 120.87mph in 2K'+ DA with just K&N drop-in filters and the race mufflers....without using launch control.
