Bosch 010 IC pump need constant power

Have just bought a new Bosch 010 IC pump. And shall now install it, but I need som guidance with the constant power to the pump. Have read ALL the post on the forum but canīt find a good descripition on how and where to connect + in the fuse box, so the pump starts only by turning the key (ACC).

Can someone show me with pic and/or with a good description? Which relay to use and fuse?

Best regards / M.N

thick orange wire in the back of the ECU box going to wiper motor is a switched 12v.
if you have a ecu remap the pump can be turned on all the time via that also.

What kind of benefit are people seeing with this mod?

There has been a lot of discussions of some people stating with certain year vehicles, the pump is on constant from the factory. Others claim it only comes on when the blower is engaged.

Regardless of what is true on that, to answer your question, the benefit is to keep the water circulating at all times so that is is already cool when the blower engages.

Any adverse affects of having the pump constantly running?

Mercedes
Originally the car was designed for the IC pump to be on all the time, and some later ECU update changed that where it's not always on. Mercedes probably did that to allow the pump to last to 100K or longer, but obviously keeping it on is ideal for performance.

So, it's safe to say that if it's on constantly, it shortens the lifespan of the pump?

Well maybe...starting and stopping things is pretty hard on them to... A pump is what $100? Im sure it will last for years... Look at a fuel pump...

Watching my IAT, I can confirm that the pump is temperature controlled by the ECU. If the car has been parked and heat soaked, the pump engages as soon as the engine starts and the IAT starts to come down. If you want to confirm this, put your hand on the HE before starting a heat soaked engine. It should be cool to the touch. After starting the engine, put your hand on the HE and you will note that it is now quite warm as the coolant is circulating. There will not be too much cooling until there is air flow through the HE.
