Resontaor deleted folks...H or Xpipe? Raspy?

I am debating deleting my resonator. Did you guys use an H or X pipe design for better flow? I do not want to lose power, did you guys notice any power loss deleting the resonator and putting an H or X pipe in? Pics? Clips?

Also, does the car get raspy deleting the resonator? I want the tone to be more throaty and raw than raspy. I do not like raspy exhausts. Also, did any of you get a CEL after deleting the resonator?

What do you guys think?

TIA

I just did mine yesterday expecting a major difference and I'll admit I was a little disappointed. Its slightly louder, slightly deeper and what I wanted, the same factory tone as stock.

Here's a picture of what it looks like, the sound is maybe 5-8% louder than currently.

Any power loss? As in torque loss down low? I hear opening the exhaust up loses some power (TQ) in the lower RPM range..

Is the rest of your exhaust system stock (headers, cats)? Mufflers too?

No loss of power. There is still more than plenty restriction.

If you look at most of the aftermarket kits they have the long tube headers, crossover, resonators and mufflers.

My exhaust still has restrictive headers, 4 cats and 2 mufflers. I'll be adding in cutouts directly in front of the mufflers soon for a little sound when I feel like show boating.

No cel since there is no o2 sensor installed in the resonator. Lets say you decide to remove the cats, you can purchase something like this to trick the cel.

It was most likely the lowest grade possible. Meineke $60 special installed.

I'm not worried about rust or weight. Won't hurt anything.

Remove resonator and add an x pipe has been a long proven and great sounding combo.

if he's leaving on the 2ndary cats there's already an H-pipe installed from factory - so do you need an H-pipe AND X-pipe?
