Red face Preventing meth or water to enter the engine while system off, plz help me :)

I have AEM meth system that works on boost to trigger the pump. I have check valve connected already. I would like to install either solenoid, or failsafe, or anything else to make sure the meth or water doesn't go into the engine while the meth system is off or under the needed boost for it to trigger. Check valve usually fail and got stuck on open and that will lead to meth/water to flow in the engine and create issues.

- What should I install?
- What is the right direction and location to install it?
- If a part recommended, I would appreciate if a picture or part number of it can be given

I run meth in my Buick, and I highly reccomend that your nozzles are mounted higher than your resevoir, This will keep the nozzles from dribbling everytime the car sits. When I first installed the sytem 15 years ago i could not figure out why the resevoir was always about 3/4 full after I filled it the night before. Then I realized it drained right to the level of the nozzles. I replumbed the nozzles higher in the intake pipe and the problem was solved. Make sure you get alky safe solenoids if you go that route. The meth is some nasty corrosive stuff.

Seriously Devils Own ??? The pumps they use are not compatible with Methanol and will fail....If your pump fails and you don't have a proper failsafe (e.g. Zeitronix), might as well kiss your motor goodbye...

My pump is AEM. Another point have not mentioned is that I will run 50/50 water/meth. It will still be safe, not to mention that I always log while on wot.

The surflo pumps included with the aem kits aren't the most reliable.. Put a gauge near the pump and get the habit of checking it weekly. Have the car tuned somewhat aggressively on pump gas, 12.0-12.2 afr for example. Then select a meth nozzle that will drop the afrs down to a mid 11. This will protect you in the event that the system does fail you won't be posting " Any good deals for motors?"

Is this true? Why would a company making products for meth water injection not have a compatible pump ?

You would have to ask the owner of the company that question...If you do a bit of research you will find a variety of options for very good pumps. I would talk to the gents (Richard) @ Aquamist....Here is one of their kits : http://www.aquamist-direct.com/806-0...-valve-system/

The pump is just one critical component (in my humble opinion) and I would strongly suggest a great failsafe regardless of the pump you choose.

Completely false! Please do not post false info I have run devils own for years never ever once had a problem. Email the owner and ask him, his pumps 1 don't just fail, 2 they are compatible to a tee

OK well I just checked the website and DO is NOW using the DP 5800 series pump (which is a great pump) - Labonte and Aquamist were the first to address the issue and I guess DO followed. They used to use a Shureflo water pump.
