05 E55 to the Track: Need some suggestions for cooling her down.

Hello all,

I'm new to this board but been reading up on it occasionally over the past few years. I have an 05 E55 with a Tune and am planning on taking it to the track. I wanted to see what you guys have come up with as far as the best way to cool the car down. I know if you put Ice on top of the charger or the intakes, the water will get on the track and that's a nice way to **** people off and I don't want to do that. Any suggestions?

If all you have is a tune then you should start by upgrading your I/C pump.

with the hood open you can see a channel on the top of the factory heat exchanger, you can put ice on that and turn the pump on to circulate the fluid.

I actually just got a new pump installed and it's wired so it's always on. Forgot to throw that in there. It's also got K&N filters and that's about it.

Shardul ++++++++++can you PM me the price for your idler pullie kit. One of mine is starting to make a little noise and its going to Roebling Road on Friday. Want to change them and the oil sometime next week when I get back.

If you sit a bag of ice on the blower as long as there isn't a hole in the bag you aren't going to have water going anywhere and the small amount that may get out from condensation is going to evaporate from the hot engine and blower.

Get a fan and throw a few bags of ice on the blower in between runs. And don't worry, any water that may get out is gonna be gone in seconds with how hot these motors get. That's the least of your worries.
