This place is a joke.

I didn't even get a bigger crank pulley cuz I was too paranoid lol, that "what if" and I make long trips and sometimes in remote parts of the country and

don't want the car to do something unwanted.

I really wanted to get the 77mm cuz I have all the cooling -Big HE, Bosch but keeping an eye on IAT's or logging all the time is out of my realm of

expertise. I rarely drive fast and never dragged so for that I just got a Clutch pulley long time ago.

The way I drive (civilized, normal, cruise control on most of the time) I don't need logging but everyone has said that it's a "good idea" lol

IMO best mods for this car , for people like me are Tune, H/E, Bosch, Clutch upper pulley and headers. Correct me if I am wrong?
Agree 100% on those mods. Add the 82mm TB later on when you get bored.

I now bought myself a OBD2 Bluetooth thingy and logged with Torque via my Smartphone. Thanks for the advice.

I was doing some 250kph Autobahn WOT pulls yesterday at a ambient temperature of 64F (18°C).
Before my first pull, IAT was at 21°C (70F), WOT pull from 100kph to 250kph and IAT reached 51°C (124F), but was going down to 25°C (77F) after around a minute, after i stepped away from the pedal.

After two more pulls to the same Speed, IAT reached already 60°C (140F) and was going down much much slower (within 2-3 minutes) then and stayed at 30°C (86F) and never got lower, even as i was cruising some kilometers afterwards.

This is a stock car (CL 55 AMG with 500HP (DIN) rating) and im shocked by the IAT already at this very low ambient temperature. I should really have done some logging during hot Summer days, but so far the SC was never shut down during my WOT Autobahn pulls.

Now how much higher would it get with a 77mm FSP ?
What is a critical IAT? At what IAT does the ECU normally shut down the SC?

Timing starts getting pulled early, I think 110* or so

With the fixed pulley your iats will be much higher

I think the blower shuts off at 180-200*

The blower won't shut off until outrageously high temps, closer to 200*F.

When you say stock car, you don't have any cooling upgrades at all? Stock IC pump?

Thanks for that information. At which Temps could a motor blow up, or does this dpeneds on the tune? Could it be made so rich at high temps that it wouldn't blow up?

`
Thanks.
Yes i have no cooling mods whatsoever. Completely Stock. As far as i could see, there is even the improved Bosch 010 pump missing...
So its really stock.

But i think she developed a heat issue anyway, because currently at sub-20°C (68F) ambient temperatures, the electrical coolant fan is as often activated as it was in hot summer days with 33°C (91F) or above.
Same goes for the coolant temperatures according to the dash. Hits close to 100°C almost anytime after shes warm. Time for some maintenance there.

Sounds like this hit the shelves a little prematurely. I am sure they will get it dialed enough soon. Such a great idea. I really want one.

Yes i also will wait until next year, until this is fixed and until i could run my already bought new 82mm TB with it, without any hiccup or any issues whatsoever. I will go EC for sure.

See latest post from Denroll and others. Seems the FSP tune is completely sorted. Multiple people confirm: No more hiccup.

Hmm really? because I just got an email from EC in Houston about a week or 2 ago when I inquired about the fixed pulley and tune that it is still not for sale due to issues with bogging.

To the left of the supercharger pulley is a plug for the magnetically activated clutch. You unplug that, then put the resistor into the plug. It's pretty easy.

So..does EC have the tune finalized now?

I would love to remove my smaller clutched s/c pulley out and reinstall my 77FSP just to at least get the really bad s/c engagement fixed..there is almost a full 1-2 sec delay when the s/c kicks in and makes me hate to drive the car as a DD

The true answer is NO.
There is no working box tune by any tuner right now. Supposedly a dyno tune will work, but also not in all cases. Nobody knows why.
