Nati Beastcat's E55 Cream Puff build
Hello,
Thought I'd say hello now that I'm jumping to the dark side and joining the AMG crowd after years of torque-less BMW's! I made the offer on this beauty last night and it was accepted. I'll be picking her up in the next week or two.
2004 E55 AMG with just over 20,000 miles on the odometer. Here are the goals for this car: 500+ HP 550+ ft lb of torque and looking to have it run in the 11's in the 1/4. Not really sure whats needed to achieve this but thats why I'm on here......
plans are:
-All new pulleys
-tune
-belt wrap kit
-new I/C pump
-new heat exchanger
-Intake
-headers
-cosmetic goodies (e63 bumper conversion, trunk spoiler, diffuser, wheels, all new badges)
I'll just update this thread as the progress starts

E55 AMG on Ethanol-Meth; 600rwhp BMW M5
Congratulations brotha. She is a beauty, and you should reach your goals without even breaking a sweat with these cars.
Let us know how we can help, nice gain from our pulley and tune combo

11's ? buddy you need better goals lol
You can be in that number with drag radials and good auxiliary water pump alone. (since it has very few kms I can bet the pump isn't
updated , and good weather)
There is a tune/pulley sale - Gains are showed 70-80 rwhp - Eurocharged has it on sale (there is a thread about it - cheapest hp gain)
Everything else is on expensive side but true gains are through Headers- long or short , Crank pulley, FSP (fixed super pulley)
and appropriate cooling to go with all.
But this FSP pulley has a catch (you need to watch your IATs and have some sort of Logging continuous).
Finally
Welcome ! I also, picked E55 over 06 M5 when I test drove both
Enjoy in good health

Welcome aboard!!!
Your time with BMWs has conditioned you to have low expectations for performance!
As mentioned, running 11's in an E55 requires very little effort or money. If you're building for 500WHP I would expect that a very low 11-second is where you'll end up. With perfect DA and drag slicks (if that's your thing) you might even crack into the 10's......
Ultimately, you will be seduced by the brutal low-end torque of the E55.
