C63 mufflers installed. Pics, vids, and a comparison
My setup: MBH Long tube headers and mid-pipes, stock resonator. I had been running the mufflers I got from Shardul for several months. I liked them, but wanted to experiment around with the sound. Found a decent deal on some really clean C63 mufflers (2012) and went with it. Pics:
I have an X-pipe going on in place of the resonator later this week, so I can get a good back-to-back comparison of the difference in sound.
But anyhow, on to the meat of the topic... how do they sound? Well, in a word, fierce. They are quieter than my last set of mufflers, but they do get very loud at WOT. It's a fun sound, too. The best way I can think to compare them to the last set of mufflers would be in opera terms. The C63 mufflers are like a Tenor while the last set I had was more of a deep Baritone. They both sound different at WOT, but both are really good. I do miss the bass of the old ones during start-up and it was much more vocal while slowing down/engine braking. I would often downshift early and get lots of engine braking just for the sound. There was more of a deep burble at idle, also. Not overly loud, but just enough that I would have the occasional stranger make a comment along the lines of "What's in that thing?". The C63 mufflers are a good deal quieter during, well, all times that aren't WOT; much like the stockers. These also fit a lot better (still, minor modifications were needed) and the tips are much better quality (OEM, of course). I had a guy build an improvised Y-pipe on the cheap, and alignment wasn't the best on the last set.
The Shardul mufflers are extremely light, though. When I got the box and opened it, I couldn't believe it. Without the pipes, they were probably less than 5 lbs a piece. They are also pretty much straight through and are very free-flowing. Good mufflers for guys chasing every last ounce and HP. From outside of the car at full throttle, they pretty much demand attention (in a good way). At one of the drag races, right after my burnout, the announcer said on the loudspeaker, "Man that Mercedes certainly sounds healthy!"

Video of Shardul mufflers. They did open up a bit after being broken in for a few hundred miles. No out-of-car rev or sound clip, though
I'm going to stick with the C63 mufflers because they are quieter when I'm not a hooligan and that means less complaining from The Woman. I also prefer the OEM tips as they are the highest quality I have seen. They are also already on the car, lol. If I went back to the Shardul mufflers, I'd try to find some OEM tips and have them installed.
Oh, and then there's the price. Good luck finding mufflers for anywhere near what Shardul can get you a set for. Definitely no MB tax here. If you're looking to upgrade your sound and the res delete just wasn't enough, give Shardul a shout. If you're lucky enough to snag a set of used C63 mufflers at a good price, do that, also. If you're interested in my old set, let me know.

Sounds sick... I dono if it's just me but I feel like mine is a little louder, I love it either way. I doubt the klemman headers and MBH would make much sound difference.

Damn, those mufflers look MINT, cleaner than the ones I have even! (7K miles on ones that I bought).
This is an exciting thread for me.
My C63 mufflers go on this Friday morning! Can't wait to do ape shiiii WOT runs after I leave the shop.
Your impressions are exactly what I was hoping for when swapping to the C63s. Stock sounding when normal cruising/driving, and substantially louder when WOT.
You've made me a happy man today, Denroll.
