dragstrip fun over till 14

The weather is looking not so great for remainder i doubt i will make the last atco rental as well. I wanted to finish up with a really good et but sometimes its the way it goes. As my power increased with addition of the longtube headers even with a new posi my 60fts have been getting worse. I have never dead hooked the car since last december before the stall convertor. Even with my best of this year 1.64 short time that was spinning. Not playing around for spring switching to quick time pros i talked to hoosier they said its way more consistant and hooks way better on a less prepped track, since it uses same compound as the full slick. Not to mention its a better softer sidewall and a few pounds lighter. I wanted to try out my fixed tune for the tcu tune now that it doesnt hit rev limiter but i guess it will have to wait. 11.59 120.13mph spinning a 1.69 800ft da. mbh headers added, 11.482 at 121.3 1.67 short time spinning in a 25mph head wind. more to come in 14

At least you got to have some fun. By the time I got my CL our only Alaska track was already closed for winter. I never even got to race my CL & Lightning against each other before the Lightning sold.

Better luck next summer. Hope you get the #'s you're looking for.

Yeah, it is not easy launching these cars once you get up there in HP/TQ. The hoosier qtp's are the way to go, I used them this past spring and got a 1.65 60ft at my power level on 28's.

You can always trailor down here for some action

I see some 1.5xx short times in your future. If you need a little more weight transfer, you can always use the good old American made car trick and remove front sway bar or un-hook the links

Wow, never thought of Alaska having a drag strip

When is the last rental? I know the weather is not cooperating very well for next week. The only decent weather I see is actually today and I think the high is 42 degrees...That's decent for what's coming this final week!

I just called Kevin at Atco and the message says no track rentals as of now. Next Friday looks like clear weather and 40 degrees. I was there in 47 degrees and did a 1.58 60ft so that may not be the end of the world. I will wait to hear from Kevin and if he says ok then I will post on the amg forum and here and see what we can do. I have others as well that would go so we will shoot for that and I will start a thread if he says it's a go.
