You're welcome! I'd say the same about you, I found your story inspiring.. Most don't have the bolas to step outside their little spot on the map they're familiar with.

It lined up pretty good
Had issues with the bumper though
The PDC holes were too small and the body shop had to redrill them larger so they fit snug

This bumper didn't cost $1000 to paint if you know what I mean....... oink oink

Made some changes.....
waiting on the grille and the mirror. having some issues with body shop. two months later and still not done.

Theres my $2K Lex in the background snicker snicker with $2K wheels on it.

the corners of the code 3 heat exchanger are hitting the bumper supports. Im going to have to take it somewhere else to get it fixed......somewhere out of town where a gent named Sir Boost lives.

While i didnt pay $1000 to finish this bumper there was the issue of the PDC holes having to be drilled larger to accomodate the suvneer bumper. At first i thought the bumper fittment was wayyyyy off but upon doing some moose investigative journalism we discovered it was the HE which was making the bumper sit weird. I have the very first HE first offered by either EC or Code 3. Cant remember who or when. This was back when EC used to be LET and Jerry/Jake were IT guys and had not entered the performance scene yet.

LET Motorsports was owned by Erik (i think) and his competitor was Brandon at Code 3 Performance. Way back when. If you know what HE this is you will understand. Shardul will know what im talking about.

Well a little update
and a little disappointing

My E55 is still waiting its grille from the painter
He is taking a long time

Not only that but when he sprayed the interior door jambs and then went over it for the exterior, he didnt even sand it down so there is this hard line where the interior and exterior meet. He will have to fix that but he is reluctant to. My freind already paid him so there is like zero motivation to make me happy. There is a run in the bumper and a fish eyes in the door.

Now on to the wheel. I bought my barrel from a well known wheel company (i wont mention names till next week) that distributes barrels locally for all the wheel shops in town. I brought in my old barrel, had them measure it and give me a new one. They gave me a quote to refinish all four wheels for $1600.

I found that kind of high so i took it to my buddies shop to remove the tires and disassemble, break down all the wheels and take them to get refinished at another shop for almost half that. Well the new shop screwed up and painted all four wheels black not gunmetal as i signed off of. When they asked me to come in, I knew something was up. They brought me to look at the wheels and i said something is off. Thats when they admitted to me they wrote down the wrong code and asked if i would accept the work. Keep in mind the wheel has been fully assembled. I told them no they had to redo it. They did but they gave me kind of an attitude about it.

So a week later the wheels are ready and i come back in. The wheels are fine but the tires were mounted and the wheel outer barrel had a deep gauge in it and it appeared it was dropped on the floor. They had to disassemble it, refinish it and put it back together again. Another two weeks.

Wheels are back on and after all the work on the wheels, i notice something. The wheel barrel size is off
I have a 4.1/2" lip on one wheel. The well known wheel company gave me the wrong barrel. I'm half inch wider in the back!!!! After all this mess with the wheels. this happens. SO i go back to the wheel company and they are like since it was mounted and painted...they cant take it back. The owner gets back next week and i will get final word from him. But i'm not optimistic. It was explained to me that Im at fault for choosing to go elsewhere for the finishing. Had i paid the $1600 for the wheels to be refinished. It would be a different story. So now i have to deal with this again.....

As for the Suvneer bumper, at first the fitment was downright horrible. I mean real horrible. Nothing lined up. I was ready to pull the trigger on Suvneer but Sir Boost gave me some insight and assured me that it did fit. I had a second guy look at the bumper. He determined the bumper was off bc of the heat exchanger (i have the dual setup like Sharduls from Code 3) and also a fitting that ragetek had fitted for the pump up front was also giving me issues. Once this was aligned...everything came back into shape. So if you have the dual heat exchanger, you will have to modify the suvneer bumper to get it to work.

Here are some pics. I dont see to rub on a 11.5" rim

There is no way to achieve perfection in this town. This is why i tell people dont buy or do any business in Miami.

Was this the work the insurance company paid for? Meaning the body work and the "easy to match" paint alibaster white colour. If this is and insurance recommended shop then it is up to them to satisfy you. runs and fish eyes are now an example of MB paint. A accident repair on a South Korean Car-Tiburon a few years ago actually my winter car the paint shop repainted the car 3 times until I was satisfied, you could count the hair follicles on your forehead when he finally did it right.

No i paid extra for the bumper
The interior door jambs is a interior/exterior issue and i selected the body shop and insurance body shops arent that great to begin with.
Miami is just full of shady people.

Wow. Shoddy body shops like this are what gives an overwhelmingly negative view over our industry. Hope your issues are resolved quickly. It most certainly does not take weeks to paint a grill nor is it that difficult to fix a door edge. The run can most likely be removed as long as it is only in the clear and the shop doing the finish work knows how to actually shave it out and polish it. Fish eyes are another story. I've been a fan of your car since before I even bought mine.
