Ran a 700hp CTS-V w/ just pulley and EC tune...

Then there are only like 5 or 6 E55s out of hundreds to run a 10 doing whatever they needed to do to get there, whether it be running in good weather, running missing a lot of parts to be lighter, running drag wheel setups, running 5 gallon tanks packed with ice and spraying their engine and heat exchanger with nitrous or Co2 whatever it was (Loco), race gas tunes, etc. Most of the E55s if not all that have ran a 10 had something special going on, not just jump in a daily driver style car other than a few bolted on mods and go run a 10 any day of the week, summer or winter.
To be fair, you went 10.5 with a skinnies up front smaller/lighter drag pack setup right? Not on the stock wheels which even on stock wheels are 1" smaller than the stock 19s of the V which we all know matters for tenths or mph or people wouldn't be buying the drag setups and running faster with the little light 16" wheels. And this was also on the best race gas money can buy right, Q16 fuel and tune not on Shell 93?
These are all things most people overlook that make a big difference. People see E55 10 seconds and then think they all do it but there were special things going on in all circumstances to get the select few E55s to get in to the 10s or even low 11s and a few that just cracked in to the 10s can't go run a 10 every run, they are sitting for an hour with ice on their engine and all the tricks to do it.
There are a few guys that have had oil pressure problems, it is said that some had bad oil pumps and ended up spinning a bearing, one or two others that are running high boost and timing have had a problem after doing a long pull (high speeds) where maybe the tune wasn't right and something got to hot or lean, like one guy added more timing while running race gas at the track and never put the timing back down and blew it up after a pull to 160+ on pump gas. But yeah there are guys that have had engine problems from one thing or another.
To be honest 90% of the people that are looking for a V that are on the forums all want the Recaro seats. Yes of course there are guys out there with not quite enough money that want the car and will give up options or buy a car with a lot of miles on it compared to others for much cheaper but that is not the norm at all. So yes you can buy one for lower 30s but the ones that "most" want is upper 30s at the low end of the spectrum then going on up from there.
Found another 2012 no less with 7K miles for 37K..... As far as what most people want.... obviously what "most" people want are the ones without Recaro seats since the majority of these cars dont have them when ordered. I have heard from a member on this very board saying he specifically didnt like those seats for a daily driver. Sorry but these cars are cheap and easy to get now and will only get cheaper. Sorry if you paid so much

So, you 'haters' don't like some back and forth ribbing and smack talk about this or that? Then you should not even be on a forum at all and most importantly...you should not even be allowed to own such a nice car as an E55 or any benz for that matter! The E55 is bad *** as Urb will attest to but each car has it's own identity and plusses and minus's.
To give some feedback on some of the stupid responses as well as the intelligent and respectful responses...my V doesn't rattle one bit on any road for one and handles better then any benz ever produced. My E55 rattled a little bit but only bc of 80k miles compared to 22k miles and newer tech I am sure. The interior of the V is definitely decent, not benz quality but very acceptable and more sporty for sure! I personally don't care what my 'fast' car looks like but everyone seems to love it...just a plus for me but again, I don't care! If a prius was an easy car to make fast then I would have one of those and I think that they are the ugliest car produced today! As far as speed, power and 1/4 mile times go...if you don't know the answer to this then you are nothing more than IGNORANT!
With that said, I have upper and lower pulley's, tweaked stock exhaust pipes with corsa mufflers (whoop-dee-do), cold air, injectors and E85 and ran a best ET of 10.58 and a best MPH of 133.66. This was on stock rims and tires with a nitto DR on the back, NO heat X, no headers, no porting of any kind and still running 2 cats! Trust me, there was more in it and I weigh 275lbs. to boot!
Hats off to all the Benz's that go 10's as it takes a lot of work and determination to run fast in them but for me it was the ease of going fast and newer technology. Keeping in mind that I am both a caddy and benz guy. The caddy was less expensive then a 2012 TT E63 by about $30k after modding so I went the caddy route. I am a gentleman and would love to square off with a couple of the gentlemen from this forum (examples: lowprofile, RBJ, and others I am sure) and would hope that they beat me as it would impress me and I would shake their hand and congratulate them...on the other hand...I would love to square off with a couple of others and mutilate them and laugh all the way home! The problem is that most of the 'gentleman' actually have fast cars...the PUNKS cars are slow anyway and you know who you are!

I lost to a GTR 3 weeks ago by 1-1.5 cars from his sweet spot 50mph to 150mph, he had a downpipe, exhaust and E85. We ran 3 times and no matter what he was pulling on me, he said he couldn't possibly believe how close we were as he has raced many cars...of course I was a bit surprised 3 days after running my 10.58 but we have become close friends since and I will not try and make my car any faster to beat him, or anyone else, as I am done with mods. I think I have it going fast enough and it is probably the fastest minor bolt on car in the country. When I lose...I will only bow! I am sure I will lose plenty of times but it sure is fun, even in defeat when u see the look on their face!
To the guys who's panties got wet and are congratulating the OP for a kill from 15-60mph (which was prolly 5-40mph) then you guys just don't race and have no idea what racing is! I don't care what 2 cars are running...that is not a race but posting it is fine and understandable in a sense...I mean look what you started? A very entertaining thread!

Well said. Man you ran those times without even doing headers ? Stock cam and heads ? Stock TB as well ? No heat exchanger or no upgraded one? Meth or Killer Chiller ? Full weight? That is plain nuts. what was the DA ?
I have to say that a 0-60 run at a stop light certainly is a race. Not a big race but a race none the less. Takes a lot of practice and skill to get your 0-60 down. Of course it gives a lot of other "slower" cars a chance to hang or even beat you but thats part of the fun.

Who's crying? This is entertaining! If we could throw out the computer racers and punks then it would be even better!
Kneepads for all the members? No, JUST YOU!

First of all, he is not my boyfriend anymore since you went ahead and blew him behind my back!
Extremely!!!
Every time Moose posts something it throws a curveball into the fray! I am looking at posts thinking cars and mods and racing and....there is that pic of Moose's and I can only think of nice asses! lmao
Seems that you are being singled out...is it really us or just maybe it is YOU!?
You're running your mouth about the wrong guy. Urbam is a good guy. So what if he has a V now? Search his posts, he's spent quite a bit of time and money on r&d with the 55k platform and has shared it with the forum.
Right on!
No, because then we would have 1500 more idiotic responses!
No one understands that better then either one of us! We 'actually' race a lot, obviously!

These prices are cheaper than Manheim wholesale auto auction so there must be an issue of some sort.

Yes, I ran that with exactly what I wrote and none of that other stuff you mentioned. The DA for the 10.58 run was -400 and big MPH run was pretty good...like -1500 or even higher. Track prep sucked that day so times suffered do to traction and that is what also aided in the high MPH. E85 makes up for heat exchanger as it runs soooo cool and maybe my car is a freak...don't know, but it runs pretty well.
I understand what you are saying about 0-60 times fully.

Those cars have a salvage title or some other serious issue. They are not that cheap even at the auction, and especially for a 6 speed. Now I have noticed the coupes are starting to drop pretty bad probably due to how ugly they are.

Computer racers lmfao cause my cars getting built i cant speak on it lolololl you and urba just mad you cant blow each other here about your caddies without people tellin' you to kick rocks. I'd quote other members but I trust you can reread the thread yourself.

I am not against you at all but the things you write are childish and not even worth responses! Who ever said that you 'can't' talk about your car? As I said, this thread is very entertaining...most of the time! Hope you had a great Xmas and Happy New Year!
...and stop blowing Urb!
I mentioned the auction as well as I almost bought another one with 110k miles on it for cheap...really cheap but it had a leaky rear main seal and the trans. had a small leak too. So, in checking the auction prices last week 2011 cars with mileage in the low 20's are still bringing low $40k's. A 2012 with 7k mi. is going to do high $40's on a bad day!
It's funny how many people seem to like the coupes but I think they are ugly too. My local dealer has about 6 cts-v's in stock and every one of them is a coupe! I actually think it is the younger generation that likes them the most hence the dealer having all coupes in stock. Understandable, given the $75k or so window sticker!

I don't understand why you have so much hate toward the car, it is like you are really threatened by it or something and can't appreciate something you don't have in your driveway.
There are a lot of people on here that like Cadillac or the CTS-V, I will name a few for you: RedbullJnky, FinanceMike, 99lightning, Sir-boost-a-lot, TMC M5, Chiromikey, hollandca12, dllhg, berti_00 (excited to go for a ride in mine in a few days), Badm, Cnterline, Moosejaw, 60nomad, emoving, hotsoss. I am sure I missed one or two and I know there are one or two other members not in this thread who are also MB ------> V converts likePetro C63 as one off the top of my head.
Shoot, that was more than a couple wasn't it? My bad
As you see, a lot of people here can appreciate/like the car. Some now own a V and used to have a Benz, some now own both, some only own a Benz and are ready to swap to the Caddy and some are just interested in it while they drive their E55/CLS/C63.Quit being such a hater and being so threatened by some other car. It is ok man, it is just a car.

I agree. Seems the coupes are sitting around collecting dust both used and new! I just sold my A6 V and picked up a 28k 6M and it is a blast. I like the auto but I really wanted to shift and the paddles were not really working for me. Like I have said in the past, the interior of the newer V is better then the old E55 but no where near as nice as the new 63. But you now have every 17 year old with a savings account buying the E55 for $16k as this forum is starting to show. I am sure the V will be there some day but for now the high mileage Vs are still fetching High 20s low 30s. I cant wait for the e63tt's to come down! That is a fun car to drive.

David,
Not bad, seems they make power and stay together. I heard a CTS V popped in NY not long ago making about the same amount of WHP as 60Nomad, thats why I asked. I had no idea the engines were that stout from GM.

If any one needs knee pads, it's you "Prada"!

I honestly can't believe you are hiding behind a different screen name and talking the way you are.
I had a lot of respect for you until now.
But sometimes I give people too much credit.
