South Georgia Motorsports Park 1/4 mile this Saturday 1-25

Who is coming?!!!! I am on a quest for a 10.3 pass in my CTS-V and multiple people I have talked to say that SGMP (in Georgia) is a better prepped track than Gainesville raceway (in Florida). It is about 1 hour farther for me but many people in my area travel up to Georgia instead due to the better prep.

I am hoping this is true and I can reach my goal this coming Saturday January 25th.

The weather currently says a high of 54 with 0% chance of rain.

I want to see some fast E55s out there with me, someone has to live mildly close to the area (a few hours away like myself).

Chawkins I want you out there!!!

Here is the track info, it is located basically in Valdosta, GA (a hair north)

Gates open at 12pm and run until 4:30pm $30 to race, $10 to watch.

Ooh, that track is tight. All the big hp GA boys go down there. I can come down there but not this Saturday, got two birthdays to attend.

I could do the following weekend or the one after that.

SGMP is a killer track. They always have good prep, and most of the times I've been there with my old crew they ran personal bests. Hope to hear about some new PB's from this crowd!

Sounds like a good time! 10.3 is moving for big caddy sedan but at least you can attain 1000 hp pretty easy HP tuner , EFI live and live road tuning is the ****z

Figured I would give this one last bump so if any of you *****es got your big girl panties on and will go can see it.

I am leaving Jacksonville, FL tomorrow at about 9:30am heading to the track.

The weather is calling for a little warmer now, high of 61 with 0% chance of rain and should be in the 50s the whole time the track is open (12pm-4:30pm).

No I could have had it but ran low on fuel at end of track not realizing how low I was. It was like I was bouncing a rev limiter and didn't know what happened right before the end.

Ran a 10.46@136.8mph with a 1.60 60ft. And trapped a high of 137.2mph on a 10.76 with 1.72 60ft. Ran several 10.5s

Thanks, happy and sad at the same time. I really wanted a 10.3 but all the stars didn't align on one run, but like you said I did improve ever so slightly from 10.49 to a 10.46, I did run another 10.49 as well today.

Something seemed to happen each run holding me back ever so slightly. The 60ft wasn't there on a run but it shifted good through all the gears or the 60ft was good but it flared on a shift or two slowing the shift down or like on my best run a decent 60ft was there and it seemed to shift fairly well but then it did the screw up at the end. You can see/hear it in the video where it sounds like I am bouncing a rev limiter 3 times before I then go across the finish line.

I will always wonder what that run could have been. 10.30@138mph? Who knows.

Never put ice in the coolant tank today either.

I weighted the car right before I left the track with it on empty and this is with me in the car and the needle on E

Best time 10.46@136.87mph

Best trap 137.2mph

Man your car is SOOO loud! So close to 140 trap, that should be your next goal. I'm thinking a 100 shot and all your goals will be smashed.

Oh and the DA was 181 foot ABOVE sea level for my 10.46 pass.

Yes a 100 shot would plant my comfortably in the 9s and around 141mph. The more common shot is 150 though in which a guy with a little less power than me on boost only ran a 9.7@142 on a 150 shot.
