new battery installed......reprogram computer?
I picked up a new battery for the car and about to install. The guy at th3 counter at advanced auto parts said the car's computer needs to be reprogrammed or it'll drain the new battery quickly?

I've never personally heard of this....has anybody else?

Or was this guy talking crazy?

I thought swapping an old battery to new battery was a wam bam done deal?

dont listen to him. it is only with some BMWs that you need to reset all electronic after a battery change.

14 E63, 05 E55, 03 Evo 8, 08 F250, 06 R6R, 92 Talon TSI, and instability
The only thing you'll need to do is reteach the car steering angles and the fully open/close positions of the windows.

...and pano roof, if applicable. Kinda like the tri-fecta of battery swap procedures.

Do you have KeyLess Go ? If so, when disconnecting the main battery, always be sure the key fob(s) are NOT within range of the car.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I have Keyless Go. Left the keys in the house when I swapped the main battery.

Car is all good now.
