Burn outs. 05 e55 amg. T/C question!!!!
Hello guys,
Im wondering if any body might have an answer to my problem. I love my e55 amg, but even with the Traction controll turned off it still doesn't let me do burn outs. I know that the 05-06 have this function, where as most of all 03 and 04's are able to become super smoky. I want to keep this car for the long term, but the burn outs kind of kills it for me, as I have been a drag strip 1/4 mile kind of guy for years. It'd be nice to clean off debris and make my hoosiers nice and sticky .
Is there a way to reprogram the ecu into disabling the traction completely??
Or some kind of aftermarket switch I can install?
Or anything really, hope some kind of software update is out there to make this possible on my 2005. Its killing me .
All my buddies in their 2007 e63/ 04 e55's, etc. are able to do burnouts, and Im just left behind in the dust lol.
Thanks guys.

My car would do two wheel burnouts but it's 04 without an LSD differential....but had LSD recently installed and it makes a huge difference especially in the snow, but I have also read that Craig and the boys @ BIP have TCU s that will solve your issues and TCU tunes??? I think.

Putting the car in dyno mode you can definitely do the smoky burnouts but I had also heard that it no longer has the airbags activated, and ABS braking, and a few other safety features. If you would like to do the burnouts and still keep all those things I think a transmission TCU swap is what you're looking for I think there are three different part numbers for the TCU..... Pretty sure this is been covered before but no biggie.

dyno mode for the win!!!!! air bags and abs are for pussies
I know with my 05 it doesn't do good burnouts unless its in dyno mode. it doesn't do brake stand at all, but occasionally I can get it to some pretty goodrolling burnouts

awesome replys !
FYI my DYNO MODE doesn't work correctly. I seem to go into a limp mode type of effect when I put the car in dyno mode. Doesn't want to get out of gear and takes a little too long to set up on the car.Plus I have to turn off and on the car to disable it and turn it on, which is more of a pain in the *** then worth doing.
+ I can do rolling burn outs, but it just doesn't cut it. I need to do controlled stand still burn outs . Mash in M1 and go.
++++ on the TCU.. I will look into this, and if its as simple as getting a different TCU, I will get it!

.
I posted a matrix of all the TCU part numbers maybe a year ago.... Search for that.
Swapping in an 03-04 TCU is probably the simplest solution.

Here... I'm feeling generous tonight, I did the search for you:
