Build date to delivery date usual time??

My supposed build date was 11/20/03 and would like to know others experiences with time between build date and delivery date. The car is going to the port in Baltimore and then it is going to a dealer in Washington, D.C. Thanks for any info...supposedly around a month is the time frame.

I'm not actually answering your question, but I'm in a similar situation. I have the same 11/20 build date and got the VIN from my dealer last Thursday - it popped up on NetStar. Now it all depends when it gets on a ship, and what that ship's schedule is. Then the visit to the VPC, inspection, and delivery to the dealer. MB uses two shipping companies, Wallenius Wilhelmsen and HUAL, which you've probably seen from other posts. Wallenius Wilhelmsen's schedule shows a ship leaving Bremerhaven Nov. 25 and getting to the west coast Dec. 19. Oh please Santa!

You're in better shape on the east coast, of course. Your dealer should see your VIN on NetStar soon if not already, and within days after that, shipping details should appear on NetStar. Good luck!

My build date was 9/25/04 and I took delivery on 10/31 - The dealer had it on 10/29.

one of seven
MB now seems to use more than 2 shipping companies. My new baby is on a ship called the 'Eternal Ace' which is owned by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, a Japanese based company. The car was a 3rd decade of October build, got to the dock on 11/5, left on the boat 11/6-8 and is due at port in LA on 12/7. The VPC will have it at most 1 week and (fingers crossed) I hope to have it by 12/15 at the latest. I had no idea it took so long for a boat to travel from Europe to the west coast!!

Don't worry guys - It's Worth the wait. I think that those of us who've been in your shoes would all agree.

My car was built in the third decade of September and I took delivery from Euro Motorcars in Bethesda on 10/22/2003. I'd say the estimate of about one month, give or take a few days, is fairly accurate.
