Anyone have a STAR unit I can rent?
I got the white "BRAKE! visit workshop" message and it's not showing a code with my OBD scanner. I want to see if it shows up on SDS.

I considered buying one, but I know it won't really get much use.

If someone is willing to rent one to me, I'd be grateful.

If you have a multimeter, you could try ohming out the brake pedal switch. This is a common fault and does not throw CEL.

Thanks, but I replaced the brake pedal switch and the warning remains.

The other small thing you can check is that the pad that presses the brake switch is physically present.

Looks like you have Keyless go. What happens when you press the start button with and without the brake pedal pressed? Do the brake lights come on and off when you press and release the brake pedal?

Looks like you are heading down the right path of asking for SDS help .. just trying to help you out diagnosing a little more until you can get your hands on one.

Can't help you with a rental - but my light was caused by a broken connection to the sensor as someone else said. Check that first.

Thanks guys. I brought it to the dealer and they said it just needed to be reprogrammed.

I'd still like to get my hands on a SDS for a weekend to do a few minor things.
