Light weight rotors for 55 AMG Brakes?
I have a CL600 with the upgraded 55 AMG brakes. I'm looking to get my car on a diet since its very very heavy and I think eliminating rotating mass as much as possible is where I should start. I did some research and found a few companies offering light weight rotors, but want to find out from guys on the forum of which ones really work the best. Did anyone get any 1/4 mile times with using lighter rotors and how much weight can really be saved?
Thanks
Kamil

I always offer them as a nice solution to save some weight and add some performance.
Slotted only run $1050 and drilled slotted run $1125 per pair, front or rear.
I just did these on my P31 C63 (Same front rotor as E55) and saved a good amount. Plus they are correctly vented and look great

Let me know if you need a set.

C63 and CL55 AMG (03-06) have the same rotor sizes for both front (360x36mm) and rear (330x26mm) but are different in height.
Using C63 rotors with your CL55 AMG brakes will not be a direct bolt on solution.
You should consider the following front and rear rotors that we make for CL55 AMG (03-06) models:
Front: https://www.racingbrake.com/ProductD...oductCode=2268
Rear: https://www.racingbrake.com/ProductD...oductCode=2269
Weight comparison (OE CL55 AMG vs RB):
Front OE one piece = 36.5 lbs
Front RB two-piece = 24 lbs
Total weight savings of 12.5 lbs
Rear OE one piece = 21.5 lbs
Rear RB two-piece = 15.2 lbs
Total weight savings of 6.3 lbs
Installing front and rear rotors from RacingBrake provides total weight savings of 37.6 lbs while maintaining the use of the stock emergency brake as well as improved braking performance and durability.
