The Beast is totaled...Need some help from my fellow benz folks
Sadly, the beast is no more. She was totaled on April 7th. I will be back because I have a metric butt-ton of parts still on the shelf for an E-55 (180ASP pulley, looped fuel rail, injectors and the list goes on)
What I need help with is finding comparable vehicles for the insurance company. Being my car had a salvage title; they need to find others like mine to give it an actual cash value.
Right now all they have is what they got from a few local dealerships and all they did was take the NADA value and cut by 50%, which is hot garbage. The appraiser said my car was in "Very Good" condition, which is unheard of for 90% of the cars out there. I could only find 1 salvage vehicle that was rebuilt and it was for 19k. They said it was an outlier and needed more.
So my request is:
If anyone owns, sold, can check locally for a 2003/2004 E55 AMG with a salvage title that was rebuilt, PLEASE send me the information. If I can get a few together it will help me out tremendously! I will need the VIN or article to provide so they can pull the title and prove it is in fact salvage.
Before I bought this car I called USAA and asked how much it hurt the value of my car to have a branded title, they sent an appraiser out and said only about 10%. They lied. I would have second thoughts to purchase a salvage vehicle unless the price was right and I would own it forever...but this is a Pain in the ***!

Real sorry to hear about your ride. There are a lot of salvage titles out there, so should not be to hard to find the info.

I own an 06 that was a prior salvage and I went through the system to get a rebuilt title. If needed, I can PM my info to you. I will tell you, I bought my car for real short money for an 06 with 71k on it.

this one has been for sale for a couple of months.even though it has very low miles I think it's overpriced by $3k-$4k.

Also, a list price has 0 to do with actual value. I'd love to get $45K for my CLS but it's just not in the cards, you know what i mean?

Its my insurance and they are offering 10,582...Thanks for all the help and kind words. it was the first accident I have ever been in and my 7 yr old daughter was with me. I would but I owe 4300 and I have no garage space to part it out. It only has 69k on it and the direct quote from the appraiser "Not even dust in the engine compartment"
My garage is being utilized for my 1986 hotrod build now. 383 stroker is about to get redone again.
I am on my way right now to look at a nice old school 1997 Dodge 2500 Cummings. One owner, 113k odo, 4x4, bone stock for 11k. I may have found my beast mode tow vehicle.
Keep an eye out, I may start selling all the new parts I have on the shelf for the E55, but right now I will hold onto them becaus ein the next few years...there will be another

I will gladly support your hot rod build by relieving you of the extra E55 parts! Seriously, sorry you lost the ride. I hope you get another soon and come back even faster.

Oh...the newer one will be faster for sure...Mine was in the low 11s with a tune, belt wrap, headers, split cooling with EC HE,secondary cat deletes, Eurocharge Tune....the next one will have, looped fuel rail, 550CC injectors, tune, headers, trunk tank, HE, Supercharger pulley, 180ASP crank pulley, Belt wrap....and maybe a few more things...hehe.
Thanks for all the support! I will still hang aroun on the forum. after 4 yrs of wrenching on my own car I may be able to help here and there. Plus you guys are like family now
RBJ, the hood was almost salvagable and I was going to pass it to ya...but it was crutched up on the front lip and the appriaser jacked it up more when they had to force it open to get a look at the engine bay...sorry bro
