Tire Brand and Size for 20x9 and 20x10.5

I bought some new shoes for the E55. Vossen CV1s, loving the wheels. The tire shop recommended 245/30/20 and 285/25/20 for the 20x9 and 20x10.5 setup. I really like pilot supersports so decided to go with those. Now that they are on the rims they are to small. Rim is poking outside of the tire edge, not my cup of tea. :/ Loving the wheels but definitely need some more meat. What tires and in which sizes do you guys run for this wheel size and get some wheel protection? I am thinking 295/25 or 305/25 if possible and a 255/30 up front. Obviously taking the rolling diameters into consideration to match.

If you had done a 285/30 and 245/35 it would of looked much better. I think anything under a 30 series tire is just asking for a bent rim...

295/25 or 305/25 and 255/30 just like you said would be perfect but the super sports don't come in 255/30. They come in 265/30 but they would be taller than the 255's thats the only problem. But pirelli nero's and hankook's come in 255/30. I'm having the same issue on deciding on what tires I want to go with, but you pretty much answered my question.

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
I have...

The 275/30 on the rear of mine. Same wheels. I was skeptical but it looks good and rides well. I'll try to get you a picture up..

Also....

You need a ride height adjustment. That's not helping your visual.

Man, those tires look stretched. I have 285/25 PSS on my rear 10.5" rims and they don't look like that. Are you sure the shop mounted the right size tires?

Can you post some pictures? What about the front, what size are you running?

Glad I could help. I couldn't find many pics of this exact setup bit saw many people ran this tire size/wheel size combo. I guess I will be looking into other brands unfortunately. Love the supersports.

Can you post pics of how yours look? I have looked half a dozen times to make sure the sizes were right. They are what they say they are. Is it possible to screw up a tire mount? Maybe it's just this particular wheel setup.. maybe the lip is past 10.5 for some reason. I'll have a measurement done when i decide new tires.

That is exactly the coverage i was hoping for. These vossens must be bigger than they claim. Ive never seen tires vary so that has to be it. Thanks for the pics! I think im going to get 295/25 and 255/30 hankooks ordered soon. Need some nearly new tires in your size?

I might buy your fronts and try them out on my 20 x 9 renntechs, hopefully they will fit like on Heissrod's wheels.

255/30 - 295/25... 305/25 depending on your offset. I was on 295 on 10.5 with a very very slight stretch. This was on Nitto Invo's.

I think your wheels are 20x8.5 and 20x10 that's why the tires fit right.

I think they are 20x8.5 and 20x10 according to this link. mertd93 is right, that's why the tires on your setup look correct. Good catch mertd93!
