What was machined / fabricated? That entire center piece? I dont see that in the original picture of the intake cracked in half. Did they CNC a complete center section? Of just the plugs?

Out Of Control!!
The square pieces that block the short runners in the bottom piece of the pic. Shouldn't cost much.

It all depends on your set up. On a low revving motor I would definitely not go short runners. If the car revs more then 7000rpm then I'd look into short runners.

I've tested long and short runners on a turbo set up (everything the same besides intake manifold), longer runners produced much better mid range and a better power graph. It had a higher horsepower spread and average horsepower vs rpm over the short runners. How ever the only benefit the short runners produced was slightly up top. It had a linear power graph and a higher peak power. Peak power was also higher in the rev range.

What the **** are you guys talking about? No one that changes from a supercharger to a turbo is concerned with midrange torque numbers. Drag racing is all about peak horsepower. These cars make plenty of torque with the supercharger. Therefore, short runners are king. But whatever you guys think.

Yes, some of the information I will disclose, and some I will not.
After closing one set of runner ports, it made absolutely zero difference. As you can imagine, I am super pissed about this. At this point, it could be anything and I am losing patience FAST!

It is not tuning, we verified that by the help of Jerry which we greatly appreciate. I cant say how he helped, but I can say that it ruled out the tuning issue by what him and Tony did with the file.

Changed plugs and regapped them
Changed coil packs
changed fuel pumps
changed sender unit assembly
a ton of tuning time
built new mid pipe
re-located the wiring harness
labor time
etc etc.....
This all cost MONEY!

Hey bud much appreciated that you are being honest. I think the blower is calling your name to put it back on, a small shot does wonders on these cars and much cheaper with less aggravation than turbos

This may be a silly question but do you have the logging equipment to watch what is happening. A real scope. Is timing being pulled? Is the throttle closing? It might be that you are hitting a tq limiter if the engine is just pulling back. I assume fuel pressure is stable. No misfires I take it?

Whipple, this car is been live tuned on bip's dyno dynamics dyno. he is watching all the parameters.
I made over 800rwtq on spray and this setup is only in the mid 500rwtq range right now. fuel pressure is dropping slightly but not enough to cause the stuttering. I have new 340lph pumps and 1000cc injectors in there. that's good for a lot more than what the car is putting down.

The reason I ask is if they are logging from the obd port then that could easily be to slow to catch the problem. The refresh rate is pretty bad.
Is it breaking up or just pulling back on power?

When will the go/no-go decision take place? RBJ is showing some very good progress, is there anything there that can help? Although you cite the tune as "not an issue" the whole ECU thing has come up. Can that ECU even do what you are trying to do? Is there another controller (piggyback / alternate model) that might be less finicky?
