DIY Oil change for the w211 E63?
What do I need exactly to do an oil change on the w211 e63? I've searched and found info on whats needed to do an oil change on the 55k.
I know.. my question is really stupid but this is my first oil change on the car and I want to make sure I do it correctly. Thanks!

-The correct amount of new oil, I believe somewhere around 10 quarts(search or look in manual for the exact amount)
-An oil drain pan to drain the oil into.
-A new oil filter, should come with new O-rings
-a socket to fit the drain plug, probably something between a 14-18mm
-A a new copper crush washer for said drain pan bolt(you can reuse the old one but you run the risk of it leaking)
Obviously a jack and some stands to get under the car. That should about do it I think.

It does have a OEM oil cooler, as far as draining it I'm not too sure about that as I've not needed to change the oil on my e63 since I purchased it.

I believe all the parts needed are in the Parts Thread

assuming the E55 and E63 share the same oil filter

I just came from the stealers and picked up an oil filter/drain plug and washer. I inquired about oil and they said that the engine uses 5w-40. wtf?? Isn't it 0w-40?

Went to my local walmart to get a couple jugs of m1 0w40 but they were out of stock. I saw castrol 0w40 "European formula" full synthetic so I checked to see if it was approved by MB and it was(229.5). I bought 2 jugs and plan on doing an oil change first thing in the morning tmrw.
