replaced wheel bearings on 05 e55, got abs, brake, & esp lights
not sure if anyone experienced this but I bought a set of front hub/bearings from a store down the street and replaced the entire unit on each side. It was a simple job. But now I have the service ABS, ESP, and Brake warnings on the display screen. Im thinking I bought a set with a defective magnet for the wheel sensors....what do you guys think? Or is it something I did wrong.
The power steering is very heavy to turn as well.
Anyone ever experience this?
Thanks
Martin

Had experience this with other MB vehicles using aftermarket parts? Sounds like you replaced the complete hub and not just ABS rings and bearings?
Personally I would not remove and retain the original ABS rings and simply replace inner and outer bearings to save the sensor hassle.

Now off to installing my heat exchanger, pulley, and tune from Shardul
I love this car!
I was surprised to see this because I used OEM parts to prevent it. What caused the problem was I did not install the inner seal flush with the hub. It was about 1mm counter sunk. this created a larger distance from the sensor. I removed the seal, and installed a new one flush with the hub. Problem solved.
So my advice;
1. Use OEM seals so you know the magnetic sensor is built it.
2. Install the seal FLUSH with the hub so the distance to the sensor is correct.
3. Make sure seal and sensor are clean and free from grease.
4. Do one side at a time and test drive to isolate any issues.
