Alarm and Door Lock chime - mine is sounding busted!?

Alarm and Door Lock chime - mine is sounding busted!?
seriously - when I lock or unlock the car the beep-beep-beep sounds like it's under water or something - WTF?

what can I check?

There's an alarm horn under the fender I think. Batteries go bad. There was a post here somewhere..

I had mine recently stop working (including the blinking of the parking lights), I took it to the dealership and they installed the E63 horn and module.

I had my hi/low horns replaced a few months ago under warranty...

this is different from the horn that you push on the steering wheel, it's more of the 'chirp' when you lock/unlock the car

it first happened last night at the track when I reached into the car and popped the hood (window was down) but I forgot I armed the car... the sound of the alarm sounded like Mario Bros. on an 8-bit Gameboy

Siren is on its way out, at some point it will stop making a sound completly
