weird car alarm issue
So I noticed the other day that my alarm speaker will randomly go off while the car is parked and locked. Not sure what is going on, just hoping its not a big electrical issue. Has anyone else experienced this?

Had same issue. Check the electric handle that opens the trunk. It may need to be lubed up and is sticking. Mine did and it burnt my siren out in a matter of 3 days.

OK thanks I'll check those both out. Do you know exactly where the siren is at, I have all data but I am trying to get a jump on it before doing that. The siren sounds to be in the drivers fender.

Dealer, independent, or anyone with SDS can definitively diagnose alarm malfunction. You can check most common causes – broken hood switch part # 2038219251 (130 in diagram) or siren, corrosion to wiring or malfunctioning siren 2198203226 (80). To gain access to siren remove left rear inner fender.

Most likely your siren has failed, same thing happened to me, replaced it with new MB part part # 219-820-32-26 from Medford MB out of Oregon. They sell genuine MB parts at reasonable prices. mbzmedford.com
There is a diy on here somewhere with pics, hope it goes well. Try searching alarm or siren won't turn off.
cheers

I just replaced my siren because I kept having this problem. I opened the old one up and it was all corroded. The batteries acid about burned me. Now the new alarm chirps when I lock and unlock the doors. Thanks to all for this thread. It saved me a bundle at the stealership.

Alarm is broken
The anti theft alarm in my 1991 Mercedes 350 SD goes off every time we try to start the car. It even happens when we unlock any door. When we finally got it started and going, the alarm went off after driving one block. We are flummoxed and distressed trying to figure this out.
