"Lighting Package" how can I tell if I have it?

Just was wondering, my current and last e55's (both 2005's) when start up the lights move in an upward motion. (no left to right). Both cars had/have the "head light washers"

I know on my last E55 that the lights did not move left and right when I was driving (after doing a search its apparent that it is pretty obvious if you have them or not from the movement of the headlights) so Im just wondering if maybe mine are not functioning. (on both my current and last car)

My questions are

1) If you have headlight washers does that mean you have the "Lighting Package" because by having the "lighting package" it says - "Projector Beam lens BiXenon headlights, Headlight control active, High pressure headlight cleaner"

2) If when turning on my car at night I notice my head lights move upwards does this mean I have the option, and perhaps its not working? Or does everyones 03-06 E55 headlights do this upon start up at night?

I don't see headlight washers as a standard option from doing research.

Just wondering as I am trying to figure out exactly what I have on this new to me car.

My lights do something similiar - when I do a U-turn at night and get onto a straight you can see them come in line again. I also have the headlight washers, but I always presumed they were standard. I recently found out that my Harmon Kardon sound was not standard so I would be interested to see if I also have the 'lighting package'.

If your headlights move during start up, as I understand, you have the active headlights. The movement is so subtle, it is hard to notice.

Something I have wondered myself since although they are definitely xenon I haven't noticed the lights move sideways although they do move up when starting and I do have the high pressure clean also.

I have the active lights on mine. I usually do not see them move side to side on start up, mainly just way down then up during the leveling process. Some times, very rarely, i notice the side to side but it is like maybe an inch or so then up they go

biggking,

my last 8 of my vin are 5A637776, please let me know when you get a chance it is much appreciated!.

Is there anyway I can get a reprint of my window sticker or is it to old? I think most manufacturers only go back so many years...

Thanks

Is this something we can easily check ourselves? If not I would very much appreciate if you could check on mine also. The last 8 digits are: 2A475579.

Cheers!

If the car is equipped from factory with headlight washers, then you have factory active xenons. I doubt very much anyone would ever fit headlamp washers (Wiring, dash switch, washer motors, hoses, bumper cover) after final assembly of the car.

While I agree with this statement, im wondering if every single E55 came from the factory with headlight washers regardless.

Anyone out there without headlight washers?

I def don't notice my headlights turning left and right when I make turns, ths would be my 2nd E55 with the same issue.

From what I know, in Europe it is mandatory to have washers if you have xenon lights, so I would suspect, Merc being german, washers are a sign that you have xenon but not necessarily the active headlights.
As to the movement up and down at start, all my xenon cars do it also without any active headlights.
Finaly, you should enter your VIN in a VIN decoder tool and you will get the list of options. Try this one for example : http://carinfo.kiev.ua/cars/vin/mercedes/

I think it has something to do with the fact that xenon lights are cold and therefore can't melt the snow in winter to the contrary of normal lights.

They did not. My first E55 had the standard halogen headlights, no washers and no self leveling. That said, it seems that 95 percent of amg cars have xenons.
