Wow, I know this is old news to most but that is impressive ! Shelby Super Snake 750 WHP stock. 10.6 @ 137 MPH on street tires is insanely fast. Wonder what good tires would do.

Still that must be the fastest street car to come out of an American factory. Especially considering street tires. Well atleast the fastest street car with a factory warranty under $100K maybe 200K. That is nuts

A few of us watched Ford testing their Super Snake at Speedworld a few years ago. It was bone stock down to the factory drag radials and ripping 10's one after the other. All I could do was pray I didn't mistake one of these for a regular Shelby on the street!
Oh, and at that level, no warranty!

didnt realize it comes with DRs. I have NT05rs for the track on my GTO. They hook much better than a real street tire. Still that 137 MPH trap has bottom 10s stock written all over it.

So really, how different is that car than a Hennessey Viper/ZR1/Z06, Renntech E63, TheOtherDodge Dakota, etc? They just take a vehicle and mod it??? Racers have been doing that for 100 years!
That doesn't take away from the excellent performance of that Mustang though.

To me, and most, "Factory" means from the "factory" such as a ZR1, Viper, Hellcat Challenger/Charger, E63 AMG, etc.

You must be missing my point... Your tread title states "Factory Ford" as if this is how it comes off the factory floor when in fact, it is not. It is sent off to have mods done. No different than my factory Dakota that I did mods. That's all.

"Random question. What kind of 60's are you cutting in that truck?"
Well, not very good. 1.42. I don't have a boost controller and can only leave on 5 lbs boost. If I try to leave on more, the boost comes in so fast, it blows the tires about 20 feet out. Same with total boost. My best time is on 14 lbs total. If I try more, I can't get it to 60ft. All on drag radials. I am tempted to try slicks once!

I see it differently. Shelby has been a household name and directly associated with Ford for at least 50 years. you could order Shelby cars from Ford dealers. In fact you still can. Very much like the AMG or M series BMWs IMO. It is considered a limited edition Mustang. Shelby and Ford are almost the same thing. You will find Shelbys at dealers not the cars you mentioned from tuners. In fact pretty sure the Shelby GT500 is a Ford dealers item.

You can walk into any Ford dealer and order a Shelby GT500. Splitting hairs IMO. Over 50 years in bed with Ford and not giving the same credit as AMG or SRT ?

I am not taking anything away from that car, just stating it is not like an AMG, SRT or anything like that. And certainly not a Factory Ford.
As a side note, I called a Ford Dealer in Houston to ask if they would honor a warranty for a Super Snake and they said yes, but if it was not caused by the extra power from the Shelby kit. I specifically asked if a "rod let go" and they said no. Now there is an entirely new discussion thread!
