My thumb is handsome and photogenic.

We would be hard-pressed to bore any larger than this. We did manage to punch through and make one tiny little hole that requires patching. There's a 20% larger surface area on a circle with a 90 mm diameter when compared to an 82 mm and a whopping 49% when compared to a circle with a diameter of 74 mm. Notice this is just quick math regarding circles, not necessarily air flow characteristics.

One other thing I'm pretty pumped about is being able to get rid of the spacer I was using. While very handy for bolting up to an inlet without much work, it was robbing me of precious room back by the firewall. It's 3/4" thick.

E55 and several 928s
Now is it easier to start with 80 or doesn't matter and just find a cheap 74.

That's the question.

This inlet was the 80mm. The 74 doesn't have enough material to be hogged out.

I have another intake snout sitting on my shelf and want to do something with it. I have seen you use a chrysler/hemi throttle body with custom wiring. I can get my hands on any 5.7l hemi and maybe 6.1, would either of them work?

It should be doable. Do you know the size of the TB?

Gotta check but I know they fit, 06-10 charger 5.7l and the other 5.7l engines. I can most likely get those for free but the SRT8 6.1 might cost me some coins. I'm a tight *** so if I can gain 50-60hp going the free route I would do it rather then getting an aftermarket one.

Pick up one of those free ones and we'll do some science on it.

I've got local member Thunderclaps with a stock TB and a Eurocharged tune willing to give this a shot. When the TB gets here, I can plug it right in to my modified cable just to see if the butterfly valve moves with my throttle. Easy test right there.
