Lady will race my car...questions..

On Nov 14, several of us from work are going to the track to race our junk. I am going to drive my truck and my GF will take the E. She has never taken a car down the track, but the car runs so smooth and easy, I am not concerned.

Should I just leave TC on and whatever happens, happens? If I take it off, she won't be able to control wheel spin.

As long as she beats several of the guys with thier 5.0 Mustangs (stock with a few bolt ons) I will be happy.

If you are worried about it, why not just take turns driving your cars. Unless she really wants to be the pilot, just drive one while the other is cooling off between runs.

I am only worried that the guys will win, not so much her wrecking it! And I would like her to drive. Eventually, I want her to take the truck down the track.

Put drag radials on, be nice and give her a few lessons/practice before and don`t waste good ET on leaving TC on.. IMO

As you know, getting tires hot is key to traction, good ET, saftey and TC will keep tires cold/slick.

I thought about DR's but I don't have a pair and really don't want to spend $700 on a set with rims!

Maybe you can borrow a set, as weather looks to be excellent next weekend for records! You can ask the pit boss to let you coach her to heat the tires up or he will help as well. Many of the local AMG owners have never taken their car down the track before and over the years, we all helped the first time trackers ( male or female) make those first runs. Having a wife, partner or GF support the addiction is crucial to a happy life! Get her hooked, on the hooby and at launch!

I hear ya~ They let me take her in my truck (as long as I kept it under 13 seconds so I just did a trans brake launch and shifted into 2nd and got off). I will ride with her the first time so I can show her how to prestage, stage and where the different parts of the track are including the turn off!

I hate to borrow tires because I don't want to seem like a mooch! :-)

Ducati
I'd just leave TC on, and show her how to set up the suspension to launch it.

I think I will do that, unless someone brings some DR's to my house!
