Inline fuel filter

Inline fuel filter and reducing fuel delivery restriction

guys,


changed the pumps 3 years ago which had a new filter, changed the filter only this year and it was extremely dirty.


Plan to remove the filter completely from the pump. Going to see if there is enough room to mount the SL55 filter.


what inline filters are you guys using and where is the best location?

ok just to help out here.


Inline filter is probably a waste of time and the flow restriction is not from the main filter.


Its the pre filters that burn the pumps out, so will be replacing both the pre filters on the pump. I want to use the largest possible to increase the flow.

done that twice already on the car and had a new filter installed both times. That filter is after the pumps and its not really a restriction problem, its the 2 pre-filters on the dual pumps that clog up and cause failure.

That pre-filter is not dirty, discolored yes but dirty enough to impede flow, no.
I have taken quite a few fuel pumps out and the filters always looks like that after a few 100 miles. No big deal and won't impede flow.

The secondary filters however.....

So no more profiler and right into the inline filter? What is the fuel pressure I remember someone doing that and lost fuel pressure. Draggbody might be on to the real solution with his replacement filter though

I still haven't had a chance to check fuel pressure. I installed dual 320lph pumps with their pre filter, which is like the oem one's. Got rid of the fuel filter in the basket and installed a fuel labs inline filter.
